About ICFAI University, Mizoram
The ICFAI University Mizoram was formed by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University Act, 2006. IU Mizoram is a sponsored university by the ICFAI society, established in 1984. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). and is empowered to award degrees to the students under the UGC Act, 1956. The university has been notified by the Government of Mizoram. ICFAI Mizoram is also a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities, London and member of the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
The university provides education in the fields of Management, Commerce, Information Technology, Humanities and the Hospital & Tourism Management programmes. ICFAI Mizoram provides courses like B.B.A, B.C.A., B.Com, B.A. (H), M.B.A, M.S.W., M.Com, M.A. and M.Sc. Admissions to these programmes are based on qualifying marks in 10+2 or graduation, screening of the applications and performance in the interview. The university also provides distance learning programmes. ICFAI University Mizoram provides ample facilities for its students and staff members. IU Mizoram facility includes library, sports, IT infrastructure, cafeteria, laboratories, guest room, wifi and auditorium. The library facility has over 15,000 books and 27 journals/magazines. The university library also has periodicals and other publications. The library has been installed with SOUL library management software and other integrated management processes are effectively carried out in the library. IU Mizoram auditorium is spacious enough to accommodate 250 students. A video conferencing room is also there in the auditorium.
ICFAI University Mizoram sports facility contains both indoor and outdoor games. Indoor and outdoor games include cricket, basketball, football, chess, carrom, tennis, table tennis, badminton, etc. The university IT infrastructure is fully equipped with computers with modern hardwares and softwares. All are enabled with servers and multiple terminals and are connected with high speed internet through LAN. The whole campus is connected to wifi with an Airtel leased line.
The university cafeteria provides healthy and delicious food and is large enough to accommodate 150 students. The university also provides a guest room facility for family members of the students and visiting faculties. There are 29 classrooms in the university.
