    About Chandigarh University

    Chandigarh University also known as CU Chandigarh or CUCHD was established in the year 2012. Chandigarh University has been ranked 45th in the overall category, and it has bagged the 27th position in the NIRF 2023 Ranking under the university category. Chandigarh University has secured 15th rank in the architecture category, 36th rank in the management category, 38th in the engineering category and 34th in the pharmacy category in NIRF 2023 Ranking. Chandigarh University has been ranked Number 1 Private University in India as per the QS World University Rankings 2024. The varsity has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f)  of the UGC Act, 1956. The campus is spread over 150 acres of land. The university has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A+' grade. 

    The B.Tech programme at Chandigarh University has been approved by the AICTE whereas the law programmes have been approved by the approved by Bar Council of India (BCI). The pharmacy, architecture, education and physical education programmes offered by CU have been approved by the Pharmacy Council of India, Council of Architecture and National Council for Teacher Education respectively.

    Establishment of the Kalpana Chawla Centre for Research in Space Science and Technology (KCCRSST) and  Centre for Excellence in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles The KCCRSST is giving satellite design training to students from 21 countries. The Space Centre can communicate with 28 countries that are part of the Satellite Networked Open Ground Station (SatNOGS).

    CUSAT: CU students are building the Chandigarh University Satellite-CUsat, which is a nanosatellite based on IoT and AI to be launched under the Government of India’s 75 Students’ Satellites Mission.

    Chandigarh University Scholarship based on CUCET score

    Students must score 40 and above in all three phases of the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) to attain this scholarship.




    Depends on the marks attained by the student. A percentage of the total course fee will be rebated for deserving students. Students attaining full marks in CUCET will get a full scholarship of 100% fees rebate. *

    CU Sports Policy Scholarship

    Students who have achievements in sports in International, National or Zonal level are eligible for this scholarship.

    Tuition fee concession along with special hostel privileges depend on the category of sport, competition level and the medal received.

    Students must fulfil AIU eligibilities and participate in North Zone/All India Inter-University. Students who are found misbehaving, absent in official camp for one week, or gets the positive result in a doping test during any competition/trials will have to face discontinuation of the scholarship.

    As per your question, basically if you see from the three consecutive years, almost 12 lakh students will apply for the CUET exam, and out of which at least 5 to 7 lakh might apply for the BA LLB admissions. However, remember that this will vary from one year to the another.
