The Ph.D. in Management (Practice Track) of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has commenced from the academic year 2019-20. IIM Kozhikode considers management practice as a dominant source of knowledge creation in management science. Consequently, the IIMs see the Ph.D. Programmes as a crucial source of management researchers and faculty resources of top quality both to the academic institutions including IITs and to the industry, business, government, and society.
This programme provides rigorous, world-class, inter-disciplinary training in different areas of business management to equip students with the ability to conduct cutting-edge research of international standard. The executive participants of this programme enrich business knowledge armed with their industry experience and academic exposure.
The aim of the programme is to help industry executives explore research-based careers at both academic institutions as well as research roles in public/private sector organizations.

The PhD in Management (Practice Track) at IIMK will be offered through the following Areas of Specializations

Economics Finance, Accounting, and Control, Information Technology & Systems, Marketing Management, Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources, Quantitative Methods & Operations Management and Strategic Management.

Eligibility Criteria

One of the following qualifications is required as basic eligibility:

Master’s Degree or Post Graduate Diploma (2 yrs) with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA. Professional qualifications of CA, ICWA and CS with B Com/Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent.

B Tech/4 year Degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent*

(* for c above additional minimum 3 years relevant experience is required for applying to Marketing Management Area)

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Persons-with-Disabilities will be given a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks requirement.

Those appearing for the final exams can also apply; but, their final selection will be subject to successful completion of the requirement by June 30, 2021. Their admission will be provisional till they produce the required certificates of qualification before December 2021.

All relevant qualifications mentioned above must be granted by appropriate bodies in India or abroad and recognized as equivalent.

Admission Details

Candidates will be short listed on the recommendation of respective areas based on their Profile and Qualifying Scores. Such candidates will be invited for a Personal Interview in online platform.

College Infrastructure

The institute is well known for its beautiful infrastructure and surroundings. Students are provided with top notch facilities. Classrooms, libraries all are well equipped and well maintained. The hostel rooms are single and double occupancy with both AC and Non AC rooms. The student sports complex and gym is well equipped .

College Infrastructure

The infra in the college is well-maintained and legit. It has every facility which makes life in the campus easy and accessible for the students. Library, hostels, wifi and lib serviced are commendable. Mess sucks !
