Indian Institute of Technology, Bhilai, is currently functioning from its transit campus at Government Engineering College (GEC), Raipur since it is a newly established institution. GEC Raipur has set up the four-storey B-block for the academic activities of IIT Bhilai. The transit campus is located in the Sejbahar area which is found on the Old Dhamtari Road in Raipur. Located around 10 km from the main city of Raipur it is well connected by utilising the public transport available in the area along with the railway station and airport found in the Raipur city.
The Raipur Airport is about 15 km away from the transit campus, and it is around 13 km from the transit campus to the Raipur Junction Railway Station. For those travelling by bus, the inter-state and the inter-city terminal which is located in Pandri, Raipur which is around 12 km away from the campus. Therefore, students can travel by train or bus to get to the IIT Bhilai as per their convenience.

Their committees are responsible for catering to the needs of students and in upbringing them in the most efficient way. Dance Club: The club consists of members who have a keen interest in learning and showing new forms of dance, from contemporary to classical, hip hop, freestyle, salsa and more. They participate in various institutional events with their dance presentation.
Music Club: Music helps students release their stress and help them achieve their academic goals efficiently. The club encourages students to learn musical instruments and take part in different events. They have singers and musicians that can play various musical instruments.
Media and News Club: This club carries the most responsibilities of the institution. They maintain the institution's social media profile and create content of the institution's website. The college offers a total of 19 courses. IIT Bhilai courses are offered at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. The institute offers engineering and science streams programmes. The college provides admission to UG, PG and doctoral programmes. Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai admissions are offered to a total of 19 courses. Candidates wishing to take admission to B.Tech courses must obtain a valid score in JEE Advanced. IIT Bhilai admission to M.Tech. programmes is done based on candidates' GATE scores. The college offers various scholarships for students with outstanding performance and for students with less annual income. Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai scholarships are offered to students from financially weaker section of the society. The college has seperate scholarships for UG and PG students. The institute believes that scholarships and awards are means of support and recognition that encourage students to fulfill and live up to their potential. Some of the IIT Bhilai scholarships provided are:
1. Merit Cum Means Scholarship is provided only to UR and OBC undergraduate students. For students with a less annual income of Rs. 4.5 lakhs can avail this scholarship for support.
2. ST/SC Scholarship, which is provided to students of SC/ST category with a family income of Rs. 4.5 lakhs annually. For this scholarship, students must have a 7.0 CGPA score.
3. Institute Free Studentship Scholarship is provided to UR with a family income of Rs. 5 lakhs and below, and Rs. 6 lakhs for OBC. Other economically backward category students with family income between Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakhs can avail this scholarship. For this scholarship CGPA of 6.0 is required.
4. IIT Bhilai grants fellowships to their students who are pursuing masters and Ph.D degrees with the Master’s students getting a maximum of 21 months as long as they score over a certain score on their GATE with the students pursuing Ph.D being offered a fellowship for 3 years. They must be academically active.
The institute gives admission to B.Tech and M.Tech. courses based on JEE Advanced and GATE scores respectively. JAM score is taken into consideration for admission to M.Sc. course. IIT Bhilai cutoff is the closing ranks of different entrance exam needs to be undertaken by candidates for admission. As per the admission process of the college, only aspirants who meet IIT Bhilai cutoff are eligible to apply for admission to courses offered by IIT Bhilai.

The infrastructure at iit bhilai is not that good now, and the new campus is supposed to ready around end of 2022.Currently, the campus area of iit bhilai is around 35 acres, and the new campus is building is around 450 acres. Most of the sports facilities at IIT bhilai are available like badminton, vollyball, basketball,etc. Wifi is very good in Our college
Institue is currently functioning on its temporary campus. Well, classrooms are good, fully equipped with AC(s). Library is also present. Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls. WiFi is provided in institute building and hostels as well. Mess is not present in the hostels but a little far away from them. Badminton courts and basketball court are available. In-campus canteen serves food and snacks.
All the required amenities are well maintained as wellas infrastructure is quite good. Mess facility is average and not at par with the expectations. In a nutshell, it is average and may not fulfil ones expectations of infrastructure at an IIT, but believe me it won't let you feel like a local college too.

Although the campus is a new one, but overall the classrooms are extremely well maintained, the faculties are really helpful, polite, qualified. The placement records are best for CSE and ECE branch while for the rest you can expect an average salary.

If you were to go by my opinion then i think you should take iit bhilai only if you get non core branches but if you are not getting non core branches then i don't think you should iit bhilai as it's newer iit.
Whereas nit Raipur is very good and renowned in terms of placements and academic achievements. Here you can take both non core and core branches. The average package of this college is 8.7L per annum.
Although iit bhilai has 10L average package but that is mainly due to its non core branches and not the core branches.

As part of new IITs been build this one is surely a good one with all the basic facilities and best teaching member. The college provides moderate speed Wi-Fi. Mechanical labs have the best equipment. Electrical labs have average equipment. Machines labs have the best equipment. Chemistry lab has the safest environment. Physics lab has realistically possible scenarios for experiments. Overall the quality is above average.
Almost 50% of the students get placed. The highest salary package offered is 22.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 6.5 LPA. The average salary package offered is 10 LPA. Amazon is the top recruiter. Roles of a software engineer are offered. The highest salary package offered in our course is 22.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered in our course is 7.5 LPA. The average salary package offered in our course is 11 LPA. Almost 80% of the students got internships mostly in older IITs.
Amongst the new IITs this one is the BEST.

The IIT Bhilai has conducted placements successfully, in which around 300 offers were released. Students bagged a highest package of Rs 36 Lakh per annum.
