• Aspirants seeking admission to Ph.D programmes have to appear and qualify for GATE.

• Students having a bachelor's degree from any IIT with the required score are also eligible to apply.

• IIT Bhilai requires its candidates to apply for and clear a written exam to be granted admission to the Ph.D. programmes.

• Students qualifying for the written exam are also required to appear for an interview about their main area of research.

• Students who clear this exam are granted IIT Bhilai admission based on the results of the test.
