BA Media and Communication at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Offline Course

The Indian Media and Entertainment (M&E) industry is currently witnessing rapid changes which has resulted in dynamic shifts in mass media’s forms, characteristics, and consumption. The digital revolution has made mass media more accessible as well as customizable. The industry is an creative universe that creates everything from bite-size news to long-form journalism, from 30-second TV commercials to 5-mins brand-promotion videos on YouTube, from feature films to web series, from Listicles to thought-leadership blog posts, from music on radio to podcasting, from prime time news analysis to documentaries, from editorials to investigative data reporting, from brand building strategies to corporate communication strategies not to forget visual and written content creation for digital marketing, among other imaginative pursuits.

The B.A. in Media and Communications (BAMC) offered at School of Communication, MAHE, Manipal a three-year graduate degree program. The aim of the program is to offer a universal understanding of Media and Entertainment industry’s activities and equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills required to become an expert media professional ready to take on the challenges of the industry. The first year introduces foundational concepts of media, followed by industry required skill building through a balanced mix of theory and practical classes in the second year thereby finally leading to specialization in key domain areas of media including print media, broadcast media, public relations, advertising, and digital media in the final year.
