About Nagaland University
Nagaland University, Lumami was established by the Act of Parliament, Govt. of India (No. 35 of 1989) in the year 1994. The University has 3 main campus which is Headquarters at Lumami, Kohima Campus at Meriema and Medziphema Campus and it has one a temporary campus at Dimapur. 66 colleges from all over the state is affiliated to Nagaland University, Lumami. The university has 41 departments that offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes in different disciplines of Arts, Commerce, Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Engineering & Technology and Management studies.
Nagaland University, Lumami is located at Zunheboto, in Nagaland. Kharikatia Railway Station is around 110 km away from the university. Jorhat Airport is approx 122 km away from the university. Students can take an auto or hire a taxi to reach there.

Nagaland University, Lumami has 41 departments that offer Undergraduate, Postgraduate, M.Phil and PhD programmes in different disciplines of Arts, Commerce, Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Engineering & Technology and Management studies to the students. Nagaland University, Lumami For M.Com, candidates have to qualify the Written Test and the admission shall be based on the combined scores of the entrance test and percentage obtained at the undergraduate level. Admission to MA, M.Phil and PhD is based on the written test followed by an interview. M.Sc is offered by Nagaland University, Lumami on the basis of entrance examination and further they have to participate in the counselling process. HQ Lumami has a 900 seating capacity Auditorium.
The University gives due emphasis on sports and other extra-curricular activities. There is a well-developed sports section headed by Deputy Director of Sports with other infrastructural supports for various activities, connected with games and sports. The University sports wing participates in intra-state and inter-state sports and games events.
HQ Lumami has a separate gymnasium for boys and girls.
Hostel accommodation is available (limited capacity) for men. Application should be routed to the respective HoDs and submit the same to the respective Dean Students' Welfare & Students Welfare in-charge in their respective campus, and allotment of seats will be according to merit and priority of application.

The University has Health Centres which provide health-care facilities for all the students of the University communities in their respective campuses.
University plies buses from/to Mokokchung and Akuluto from/to HQ Lumami. Bus facility is also available from Kohima to Meriema.
At HQ Lumami, all the departments, library and hostels are well connected with internet.
