Candidates are typically considered safe if they secure a rank between 112 and 115 with a score above 98. The high CLAT cutoff reflects the institute’s limited seat availability and the large volume of applicants. For EWS candidates, the cutoff generally stands at around rank 700 with a score of approximately 89. While the level of competition is relatively moderate compared to the General category, the benchmark remains high due to the restricted number of reserved seats.
OBC candidates usually face a cutoff near rank 1540 with a minimum score of 85. Although this is lower than the General category cutoff, admission is still challenging because of limited reservation quotas. For SC candidates, the cutoff is around rank 3000 with scores above 83, while ST candidates may expect admission at approximately rank 6000 with a score of 78 or higher. Overall, although the CLAT reservation policy offers some relaxation in cutoff ranks, competition across all categories remains intense due to the consistently high number of applicants and the limited seats available at NLSIU Bengaluru.
