Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded (SRTMUN) was established in 1994 by the Government of Maharashtra. The University has been named after Swami Ramanand Teerth the Doyen of the Hyderabad Liberation Struggle and also a renowned educationalist and social activist. The University caters to the southern part of Marathwada Region of Maharashtra State, specifically the districts of Nanded, Latur, Parbhani and Hingoli. The University is recognised by the UGC and it has adopted the school system and granted academic autonomy and follow CBCS pattern. The sub-centres of the University are located at Latur, Parbhani as well as Tribal Skill Development and Training Centre at Kinwat and the Model Degree College at Hingol. At SRTMUN campus the University offers postgraduate and research programs in science and technology, social science, commerce & management, language, literature and culture studies including foreign languages, fine and performing arts, journalism, education, and sports.
