24 Months- Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed) is a full-time two years duration postgraduate course and it is offered by The University of Jammu, Jammu
- Directorate of Sports & Physical Education was established in the year 1969. The primary objective of the Directorate was to monitor and conduct Inter-Collegiate Tournaments in various disciplines and ensure participation of Jammu University team in zonal and All India Inter-University Championships. However, the campus sports activities are being looked after by the PTI Campus who works under the direct supervision of Chairman Campus Sports Committee.
- The nomenclature of the Directorate was changed into Directorate of Sports & Physical Education during the session 2002-03 with the inception of the B.P.Ed professional course of one-year duration and M.P.Ed course with two years duration in the year 2008 and has recently framed the time-bound programmes for achieving sporting and academic excellence.
- The Directorate has given very good result by producing numbers of players of International; Standard and has also produced three batches of M.P.Ed students and that too with hundred percent placement in the Govt. sector.
- The Directorate with its vigor, confidence and synergized efforts towards meeting this vision and objectives.
Eligibility Criteria
- A Candidate must have passed B.P.Ed and B.Sc in Health and Physical Education with at least 50% marks.
- Bachelor in Physical Education or equivalent with at least 50% marks and at least three years of teaching experience.
- The Physically Handicapped candidate is not eligible for admission to the programme.
Admission Details
- The Selection for admission shall be made on the basis of merit obtained in the Entrance Test out of those qualifying the Canadian Test.
- Admission to a programme of study in the University shall be made on the basis of written objective type Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) by the Admission Committee of the Department concerned with the approval of the Dean Academic Affairs.
- The candidate qualifying the written exam test prescribed by the University shall have to further appear in the Canadian Test to be conducted by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
