What is Medical Biotechnology
Medical Biotechnology is the study of living cells and organisms to research, develop and produce pharmaceutical and diagnostic products that are used to treat and cure human diseases. In medical science and technology, this is a very vast field with a lot of career options to choose from. This field of study is used across various fields like pharmacology, gene therapy, tissue engineering etc. One can say that this is a field of study that connects medical science with technological aspects. A lot of medical research and development centres are always hiring medical biotechnologists for different purposes ranging from new concepts for a new medicine to the development and production of the new medicine.
Reports say that the pharmaceutical field has grown by 15% over the last 5 years and in 2020, and with the outbreak of COVID-19, this growth has only increased by a great number. During this period of time, a lot of pharmaceutical companies hired a lot of medical biotechnology experts to come up with medicine for immune booster etc. This growth is bound to increase by 20% in 2022, provided that it keeps on growing in the same way as today. Now, with this growth, there comes a lot of job opportunities and career options for medical biotechnologists. So, studying this course will bring you a lot of options, and after COVID-19 gets over, this field of study will be probably one of the highest recommended and an in-demand field of study for medical science and technology students.
Some of the best well-known institutes in India that provide this course are IITs, NITs, Delhi Technological University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, University of Hyderabad, Calcutta University, Pune University and Anna University etc. This course is provided by a lot of other universities other than the one mentioned above. So, if you have any university in your mind, feel free to go for it.
