Biochemistry is a branch of medicine. It involves study and analysis of chemical processes such as respiration and metabolism in living organisms at a cellular or molecular level. The individuals who study biochemistry are also known as biochemists. They focus on processes such as cellular multiplication, the functioning of the brain and communication between cells and organs. A significant work task of a biochemist is to perform experiments for the study and analysis of the behavior of protein molecules, lipids, vitamin and minerals, hormones and nucleus inside a cell. They also need to have a good understanding of the structure and functions of the DNA.

Hello aspirant,
Learning more about molecular biology, genetic engineering, cell biology, and other biological topics is essentially what studying biochemistry teaches you. Very little research is done on actual chemistry in biochem.
Chemistry includes chemical laboratories for synthesis, material characterisation, purification, and related activities. Again, Biochem has more labs dedicated to biology.
Each course has a particular work environment and is completely different from the other. Since I'm presently studying biotechnology and took both courses in my first year as well as future sub-subjects, I've given you insight about what goes on in both sectors. It is up to you to decide which field best suits your interests. The future is bright for both area s.
Thank you
Hope this information helps you.
Hello,
Both MSc Biochemistry and MSc Bioinformatics have their own unique advantages and scope in their respective fields. It ultimately depends on your interests and career goals. MSc Biochemistry focuses on the study of chemical processes in living organisms, while MSc Bioinformatics combines biology, computer science, and statistics to analyze biological data.
Both have a great scope in future, so it's upto you to decide what you want to pursue depending on your interests.
I hope this helps,
Thank you
Hello aspirant,
If research is your only interest, a PhD is the best alternative. Many institutions offer direct PhD programs following MBBS. To enroll in AIIMS, you must pass the entrance exam. You might need to pass the CSIR-NET or another qualifying exam to get into other institutes.
Biochemistry PhD programs can be costly and time-consuming, taking up to four or five years to finish.
