Masters in Public Health (MPH) program enables the students, including non-medical students, to become experts in addressing a range of determinants of health. There is an increasing acknowledgement of the fact, the individual and social determinants of health are often beyond the scope of the formal health sector. India is in rapid social-economic transition, wich significant implication of health and well being, in the health sector. Concurrently the health condition of Indian the population is also going through rapid transition and influenced by a range of social, economic and demographic determinants such as globalisation of trade in medicines, unplanned and unregulated urbanisation, changing lifestyles and food patters, environmental crisis.

Though India has made enormous strides in the overall health and well being of the population over the past years, the disparities between the rich and poor in access to health services continue to expand in society.

The poorest and the most marginalised sections of the society are not only at a higher risk for communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) but are also least able to cope with the diseases and disease outcome. Out pocket expenditure to cover health forces many families more in-depth into poverty.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates having a Bachelor's degree in any discipline (with a minimum of 3 years duration) or its equivalent are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates with experience of working with the social and environmental sector, corporate organizations, civil society institutions, in livelihood programmes, conservation programs, on policy advocacy, project planning and monitoring will be given due weightage.

Selection process:

  • Candidates with a minimum of 40% aggregate mark at the graduate level
  • Selection will be based upon online application and Statement of Purpose regarding the candidate's interest in joining the course.
