A Candidate seeking admission to the first-year Bachelor's in Physiotherapy (BPT):
Should have passed two years of university examinations conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State, with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects individually.
OR
Shall have passed any other examination conducted by Boards / Councils / Intermediate examination established by State Government / Central Government and recognized as equivalent to a two-year Pre University Examination by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences / Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects individually.
OR
Candidates who have completed a Pre-university course with Vocational Physiotherapy as their optional subject are eligible for admission to the BPT course.
OR
Lateral entry shall be to the III years of the 41/2 years BPT Course
The students who have completed the DPT course conducted by the paramedical board are eligible for lateral entry.
A candidate seeking admission to Bachelor of Physiotherapy course should have completed 17 years of age, as on 31 st December of the year of admission.
The selection of students to a course of Physiotherapy shall be based on merit, provided that:
In case of admission based on a qualifying examination, a candidate for admission to the BPT course must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, and must have obtained not less than 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, or Category I, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology together in the qualifying examination are not less than 40% instead of 45% as above.
