My experience at Government Polytechnic, Gopalganj has been average to good. Being a government institution, it offers affordable education and basic facilities for students who want to pursue a diploma in engineering.
Academics
The college infrastructure is decent. It has classrooms, computer labs, a library, and a campus with greenery. However, the facilities are somewhat basic and need improvement, especially in terms of modern equipment and lab updates. Hostels and campus amenities are manageable but not very advanced.
Placements
Placements are limited compared to engineering colleges. The average package ranges around 1.6-4 LPA and only a portion of students get placed. Many students prefer to go for higher studies like Btech through lateral entry after completion their diploma.

The college follows the State Board of Technical Education curriculum, and the diploma course of 3 years. The faculty members are generally helpful and supportive, although the teaching quality can vary from teacher to teacher. Campus is well maintained and also have sitting areas.

Need to improve the infrastructure as all the buildings, roads and departments are quite old and need lot of improvements.The institute has well-equipped classrooms, lecture theatres, and advanced laboratories for engineering, science, and interdisciplinary research. The central library is extensive, offering a vast collection of books, journals, and digital resources. Students also have access to high-speed internet and computer centers across the campus. For accommodation, IIT BHU provides multiple hostels for boys and girls with basic amenities, Wi-Fi, and mess facilities. Sports infrastructure includes playgrounds, courts, and a gymnasium for activities like cricket, football, badminton, and athletics. The campus also has auditoriums, seminar halls, and a large amphitheater used for cultural and technical events such as Technex IIT BHU and Kashiyatra IIT BHU. In addition, healthcare facilities, banks, shopping complexes, and green spaces make the campus self-sufficient and student-friendly, creating a balanced academic and social environment.

In terms of academic, IIT BHU is good but need to remove old courses which have no use in today's world and they have to introduce new course focusing on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.The institute offers undergraduate (B.Tech), postgraduate (M.Tech, MSc), and doctoral (PhD) programs across disciplines like engineering, sciences, and interdisciplinary fields. Admission to B.Tech programs is through Joint Entrance Examination Advanced, ensuring a highly competitive and talented student pool. The curriculum is regularly updated to match industry trends and technological advancements. It includes core subjects, electives, lab work, projects, and internships. Students are encouraged to engage in research early, often working under faculty guidance in advanced laboratories and research centers. A lot of companies recruits from IIT BHU. Placements are quite good. Average and median package are good and IIT BHU has better future in terms of placement.Placement percentage is quite high, with many students getting placed in the first few days itself. Additionally, a good number of students secure Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) through internships, which reduces pressure during the final placement season. IIT BHU also provides strong support through internships, coding culture, technical clubs, and alumni network. Overall, in terms of placements, IIT BHU offers excellent opportunities, especially for students who actively build skills and maintain good academic performance.

the college infrastructure is quite on a low side as the classrooms need to be renovated, the campus is quite big but there are lot of issued such as network issues not accessible in most parts of the college, canteen hygiene is a big concern.

Campus life i would say is totally dependent on the type of friends you get being a student from punjab i kind if feel excluded while majority of students are from haryana and sometimes i don’t get the vide although they are great but on a comparison i would conclude that i was more extrovert in my school life as the people around me were like me

Yes my college provides the necessary and well maintained infrastructure and facilities required for the students and equipment have been procided to each and every one . As my campus have been shifted from gandhinagar to jpnagar we have been provided with new drafting tables and chairs and they have retained few furnitures that are in good condition without wasting it .. in classrooms we are provided with projectore mic and furnitures and in lab we have provided woth monitors . As of library there are many books that are very essential for the students to gain knowledge. The wifi is good in the campus

I am currents in my final year of interior design and the syllabus is always new to the students year by year abd they provide us with practical knowledge and take to site visits and get to know in depth of the details . The faculties teach us not by spoonfeeding but with research and then clarify our doubts .. they let us explore varies subjects and thennpoint out the mistakes and rectify it as it registers in our mind for a lifetime .

Almost everyone got into internships and are working … those who didn’t get it the management is figuring out and placing them in various companies .
