Varda College of Education, Sikar Admission Process

The Varda College of Education, Sikar, and proudly holds the distinction of being one of the premier colleges for teacher education courses in Neem Ka Thana, Rajasthan, India. Approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the college carries out admissions strictly on merit following the government policies of the state of Rajasthan.The admission procedure of Varda College of Education is to select those students who are capable of pursuing the career option in the fields of education. The merit for admission to the B.Ed course is given through counseling against the Pre Teacher Education Test (PTET), which is conducted by a Counseling Agency appointed by the state Government of India. Integrated BA B.Ed and B.Sc B.Ed programs follow merit-based admissions based on due weightage to qualifying examination marks and entrance tests according to state policy.

Notifications regarding admissions are usually given at the start of an academic year, predominantly August-September, with admission proceedings beginning a few months prior. Interested parties should look up the official website or contact the admission office for exact details regarding application submissions, entrance examinations, and counseling processes. Different criteria usually apply depending on their program. In the case of B.Ed., the basic eligibility criterion is to have a graduation degree in the relevant field. The eligibility criteria pertaining to the integrated courses, BA B.Ed and B.Sc B.Ed, are standard criteria for 10 plus 2 levels but may differ upon special circumstances. 

Application Process

Although the admission process to Varda College of Education, Sikar, may differ slightly for the various programs, it generally involves the following steps:

1. Notification: The admission notification will be released by the college through its official website and in local newspapers.

2. Application Form: Candidates need to procure the application form and fill it. This could either be downloaded online through the college website or purchased from the college campus.

3. Document Submission: The completed application form should be submitted along with other documents, as applicable:

  • Passport size photographs
  • Marksheet of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th and graduation as applicable)
  • Category certificates (if applying under any reserved category)
  • Domicile certificate (for state quota seats)

4. Entrance Examination: Candidates need to appear for the PTET, which is conducted by the relevant agency for the B.Ed courses. For integrated programs, candidates may have to appear for another entrance examination conducted by the state.

6. Counseling: Shortlisted candidates will be called for counseling, where documentation verification will take place, along with making the choice of a particular course (which is for the integrated programs).

7. Fee Deposit: After seat allotment, candidates should pay the admission fee to confirm their admission.

8. Final Admission: Successful completion of all the above-mentioned processes leads to the candidate's admission to the program of choice.

Degree Wise Admission Process

B.Sc B.Ed: Varda College of Education offers a four-year integrated program. Admission for this course is based on merit, on the basis of the qualifying examination and entrance examination. Selection follows the policy made available by state government of rajasthan.Students are supposed to check the eligibility criteria for science subjects at the 10+2 level.

BA B.Ed: This, too, is a four-year integrated program and is similar to the B.Sc B.Ed in the method of admission, which is merit-based based on the qualifying examination and entrance test scores. Selection is carried out under the policy of the state government. Candidates need to be reasonably well versed in art subjects at the 10 + 2 level to be eligible for this program.

B.Ed: This 2 Year program is the flagship course of Varda College of Education with an approved intake of 200 seats. Admission is by counseling through the Pre Teacher Education Test (PTET). The PTET is conducted by an agency appointed by the Rajasthan state government. Thereafter, the candidates who qualify the PTET enter through counseling where allotment of seats is done on merit and choice.
