WHAT IS HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM ?

Courses taught in Hospitality and Tourism at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in educational institutions across India is directed at teaching the students various ways of planning, managing and providing lodging, food, recreation, conventions, travel services and tourism and related planning and support services to clients and visitors.Courses prepare students to work in the catering and accommodation industries with plenty of practical training as far as tending to visitors is concerned. Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Studies is a 3-year programme.Furthermore, students are made familiar with the key concepts driving hospitality operations management, multiple contexts of the tourism and hospitality industry, psychology of tourism behaviour and various ways of creating a marketing plan for tourism/hospitality concept. Not only that, they get on-site training on etiquettes and conduct in order to know what goes into growing a business. Master of Science in Hospitality and Tourism is a 2-year programme.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

UG: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with mandatory minimum marks along with a good score in entrance tests held for the UG programme conducted by various state, central and private universities.

PG: Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism or in any other relevant subject with at least 50% marks along with a good score in entrance tests held for PG programme conducted by various state, central and private universities.
