Full time research scholars at NIT Surathkal are eligible for a fellowship of Rs. 31,000 per month for the first two years and Rs. 35,000 per month for the remaining two years provided their progress is satisfactory in the research area. In 2021, the institute announced a fully funded two-year post-doctoral fellowship programme for Ph.D holders in the field of research. The fellowship is open to ten eligible candidates with a strong research background. The candidates will be selected based on a written test and interview. The selected candidates will get a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000 per month and a contingency amount of Rs.30,000 per annum.
