I'll be really honest with you. This field is still developing in India hence the job opportunities and the packages aren't that good as compared to the other branches. The jobs a Btech Biotechnology student can get are with pharmaceutical companies or with research institutions but, the core companies only hire from NITs or IITs or other highly reputed colleges.

What most students choose is to go abroad and pursue a doctorate or a masters degree because, this field has greater opportunites abroad.
