Amity University, Kolkata was founded in the year 2015 after the Legislative Assembly of West Bengal in 2014 passed the Amity University Act, 2014 (West Bengal Act, XXIV of 2014). It is a private co-educational institution. The campus is spread over 10 acres of land. Amity University Kolkata is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The university has a total f 240 faculty members and the total student enrollment is 5492. Amity University Kolkata has collaborated with many organisations for the benefit of the students.
