The Central Agricultural University (CAU) in Imphal, Manipur is a premier agricultural university in Northeast India. It was established in 1993 under the Indian Parliament Act (No. 40) to provide education, research, and extension services in the field of agriculture and allied sciences. The University offers 9 Undergraduate, 45 Postgraduate and 25 Ph.D. degree programs in different subjects/disciplines of Agriculture & Allied Sciences through its 13 constituent colleges located in seven states of the North-East region of India. CAU Imphal is actively involved in various research activities and collaborations with national and international organisations. It has received funding from prestigious agencies like the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), and Department of Science and Technology (DST) for research projects.

The university also promotes agricultural entrepreneurship and innovation by organising training programs, workshops, and exhibitions for farmers and rural youth.
