There are three entry points for getting admission in Central Agricultural University Imphal.
Through State Nomination - All the 7 North Eastern States under the jurisdiction of CAU (Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura) are given the opportunity to get admitted to CAU Imphal. Candidates can approach respective state departments of Agriculture, Horticulture and Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry for state Nomination.
85% of the total seats are allotted under State Nomination as per the reservation policy of the concerned states at the undergraduate level. There is no state nomination for PG and Ph.D. Programmes.
Through ICAR AIEEA - ICAR conducts the All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) through the National Testing Agency, from which during counselling candidates may opt for Central Agricultural University, Imphal as their University Choice. 15% undergraduate seats are reserved for candidates from all over India through the CUET Entrance Exam strictly with ICAR reservation policy.
For Postgraduate and Ph.D. programmes, 75% of the seats are selected through the University Entrance Test conducted by CAU Imphal and it is open for candidates all over India. 25% seats are reserved for candidates from all over India through the AIEEA Entrance Exam strictly with ICAR reservation policy.
Through Self-Financed Seat - Self-Financed programmes are open for all candidates from all over India. CAU Imphal may either conduct an entrance test or selection may be based on the AIEEA score. The Self-Financed Programme is available for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels in selected disciplines.
The admissions are strictly given on a merit basis and through online counselling.
