72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is an offered Full-time Doctoral program and it is offered by Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi. Ph.D. program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.

Eligibility Criteria
- Master Degree (M.E/M.Tech) in Geotechnical Engineering, Transport Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Environment Science & Engineering.
- Master Degree (M.Sc.)in Environmental Sciences, Water Resource Management, Geoinformatics, Geology.
- Master Degree (M.E/M.Tech) with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 5.50 on a 10 point scale, or 55% Marks for UR category, for OBC/SC/ST or PWD candidates the minimum CGPA requirements may be relaxed to 5.00 on a 10 point scale or to 50% marks.
- Master Degree (M.Sc.) 5.50 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks for UR category. For OBC/SC/ST or PWD candidates the minimum CGPA requirement may be relaxed to 5.00 on a 10 point scale or to 50% marks
Admission Details
- Admission to the Ph. D. program shall be either through a Research Entrance Test or through direct admission (relaxation from entrance test).
- A candidate who is qualified in a national level test such as UGC-NET (with JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (with JRF).
- UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/SLET/GATE/teacher fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil programme.
