Academically, CUJ is one of its stronger aspects. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated and PhD programmes across several disciplines, with a significant focus on research. Students generally describe the faculty as qualified, knowledgeable and supportive. The curriculum is considered relevant, and examinations are usually based on the topics covered during classes. Research opportunities can be particularly useful for students interested in higher studies, NET, GATE, PhD and academic careers. However, practical exposure and industry-oriented learning may differ considerably between departments

Central University of Jharkhand has a reasonably good and improving infrastructure, although the experience can vary by department. Students have access to classrooms, laboratories, a library, Wi-Fi, hostels, sports facilities and other basic amenities. Recent student reviews mention spacious classrooms, smart classrooms, digital library facilities and a large green campus. However, some students still point out limitations in laboratory equipment, hostel maintenance, internet connectivity and the availability of advanced facilities. Overall, the infrastructure is adequate for academics but still has room for further development.

Campus life at CUJ is generally peaceful, green and suitable for students who prefer a quieter academic environment. The university has sports facilities and conducts cultural and extracurricular activities, giving students opportunities to participate beyond academics. Several student reviews describe the campus atmosphere positively and appreciate the large open spaces and peaceful surroundings. At the same time, the relatively remote location and connectivity with the main city can be a disadvantage for students who prefer an active urban lifestyle, shopping, entertainment and frequent outings. Campus life can therefore feel calm rather than highly energetic.

Placements at CUJ are mixed and depend heavily on the course and department. Management-related programmes generally appear to have better campus-placement opportunities, while students from several science and other academic programmes may need to depend more on higher studies, competitive examinations, internships or off-campus opportunities. Student reviews show considerable variation in placement experiences, so it would be misleading to assume that every course has the same placement prospects. Students choosing CUJ mainly for placements should therefore check the placement record of their specific

CUJ offers good value for money, particularly for students who want a central-university education at a comparatively affordable cost. The relatively reasonable fee structure makes it attractive to students from Jharkhand as well as neighbouring states. The value becomes especially strong for students who are focused on academics, research or higher studies. However, students expecting excellent placement opportunities in every course may feel that the return on investment varies by programme
