CDLU Sirsa Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The University Library came into existence in 2003. It was shifted to the present impressive four-story building in the year 2010 and named Vivekananda Library. The present building of the Library is easily approachable to all the departments, offices, hostels, and also residences. The outlook of the Library is decorated with beautiful lawns, besides sufficient space for parking. Special attention is given to the facilities of drinking water, light systems, and security systems. All the reading areas of the Library are spacious, peaceful, and furnished with comfortable furniture. The Library has a rich collection of publications which includes books, journals, theses/ dissertations, reports, newspapers, magazines, etc. Wi-Fi internet connectivity is made available in the library to provide users with easy access to the internet. The facility of E-books and E-journals through INFLIBNET and DELNET is also offered to the users.

The University Computer Lab, UCC has been established on the top floor of Vivekananda Library to facilitate the research scholars, students, and staff members as per their requirements. Help Desks for different purposes like Online Admission, Online Scholarship forms, training programs, and workshops are established in the Computer Lab occasionally. Students of STDs also visit in Computer Lab to use Computers as per notification circulated to all the Chairpersons vide No. UCC/Comp.Lab/2016/39-56 dated 25.11.16. The details of some other projects as handled/ dealt with by this Official of this office are as follows.

The University Health Centre provides the facilities of consultation, medicines, first-aid service & laboratory tests, etc. to students, employees & their dependents during the working hours of the University Health Centre free of cost.

The University has two Boys Hostels in University namely, Lajpat Rai Bhawan (BH-I), and Sardar Patel Bhawan (BH-II). Both the hostels are under the overall supervision of the Chief Warden (BH), who is assisted by the Wardens. Facilities like Electric Geysers, Desert Coolers, and Water coolers fitted with Aqua Guards and insect Killers are also provided. Internet facilities have also been provided to the residents. Wardens’ residence is also situated on the University Campus. Hostel Mess is running on a cooperative basis.

The University has two Girls' Hostels in University namely, Haruhi Devi Bhawan (GH-I), and  Kalpana Chawla Bhawan (GH-II). Both the hostels are under the overall supervision of the Chief Warden (GH), who is assisted by the Lady Warden and Co-ordinator. Facilities like Electric Geysers, Desert Coolers, and Water coolers fitted with Aqua Guards and insect Killers are also provided. Internet facilities have also been provided to the residents. Ambulance service is also provided round the clock. The warden's residence is also situated on the University Campus. Hostel Mess is co-operative and Canteen is running on a Contractual basis.

The University has 448 seats in Multipurpose Hall for all the events and seminars.

The University has a Gym facility for the students.

The University has the facility of a Bank, two ATMs (One of OBC and One of SBI), and a Book Shop in the shopping center is available.

The University has Transport facilities to cater to the needs of the students and staff.

The University has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The University campus is wi-fi to make it conducive for ICT.

The university has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The University is rendering sports facilities to the students as per AIU norms. There is adequate space for the ground to organize the events of almost all games in the open space and the MPH, which is near commissioning, has provision for indoor games including the gymnasium with powerlifting and weightlifting types of equipment. The cultural and extra-curricular events are organized in the University for harnessing the talents of the students.

The University has good networking for the alumni association. Three MoUs have been signed between the University and institutes of national/international repute, which helped in curriculum development, providing internship and on-the-job training and placement of the students, exchange, and development of faculty. The first meeting of the Alumni Association was held on May 25, 2014, which helped the University to keep track of the student's achievements in their career and their involvement in social activities.

The University has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The University has a convenience store facility for students. (like photocopying facility & stationery etc.)

The University has a Classroom facility for all students.
