HNB provides numerous courses in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. B. Sc., M. Sc., MCA, B. Pharm, to name a few. They also have popular engineering specializations of B. tech. The college also provides a good MBA program along with an MBA in tourism management.
For M.A./M.Sc./M.Com./MCA/ M.Pharm./ M.Tech./MSW/LLM/ B.Pharm./ B.P.Ed./ BHM/B.Lib./B.Tech.(Lateral Entry)/P.G Diploma courses, the admission is conducted through the college entrance exam.
Scores of National Entrance Exams (CAT/MAT/CMAT/JEE (Main) 2020 are considered while seeking admission for courses like MBA or MBA (Tourism and Travel Management) and B.Tech.
Students who aspire to study B. Tech in HNB University must have qualifying scores in JEE Mains and can fill the admission form for HNBGU provided they have aggregate 60% in their 10th and 12th from a recognized board. The mainstream in 12th must be Science with Math, Chemistry and Physics as compulsory subjects.
The cut-off for JEE Mains depends on various factors that can allow you to determine the cut-off of recent years.
The difficulty of question paper: This factor has a major impact on the cut-off. If the paper is set at a higher difficulty level, then the cut-off drops and vice versa.
Number of appearing candidates: This factor will also have a direct effect on the cut-off. The more candidates appear for JEE, the higher is the cut-off set.
No of seats: The total number of seats also affects the cut-off trends of a year. If the number of seats available is limited, then the cut-off released will be higher to accommodate the higher scoring students in these seats.
Past year trends: This factor will easily allow you to determine the cut-off of the latest year. The cut-offs of the recent year will be set close to the past year trends.

From the cut-off analysis of JEE Mains, it is clear that HNB is highly opted for popular engineering streams like Computer Science and Electronics. Many students have selected these programs to study at HNBGU. Mechanical engineering secures a second place. However, the college’s owned instrumentation engineering is also one of the prospering courses among recent students.
HNBGU offers two MBA programs, one being the MBA and other MBA in travel and tourism management. Students with a minimum of 60% in their Bachelor’s or undergraduate course without and pending backlogs are eligible to apply for MBA. Students should also have qualifying scores in entrance exams of MBA like CAT, MAT and GMAT.
The cut-offs of CAT, MAT and GMAT fluctuate significantly due to many contributing factors.
The difficulty level of paper: One of the main reasons for the rise and fall of the cut-offs is due to the difficulty of question paper set. The higher the difficulty level, lower is the cut-off released.
Number of applicants: Another reason that causes the cut off to rise is the higher number of applicants in that year. The lesser the students apply, the less will be the cut-off set.
Seat availability: The number of seats also affects the cut-off trend of a particular year. If the seats are more in number, then the cut-off will easily drop by a few rounds.
College reputation: The cut off for these entrance exams may also vary depending on the institution. Reputed institutions generally have a higher cut-off. So students desiring admittance in such a college must score more.
Past cut-offs year: To determine the cut-off of the recent year quickly, you can refer to the past year trends. The cut-off of recent years is generally close to past year cut-offs.
Observing the past cut-off trends of the CAT exam, it is evident that the total number of candidates has dramatically increased. Therefore, the cut-off has also witnessed a rise for admissions in the MBA course. Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, i.e. VARC requires a higher score compared to other parts of the exam followed by Quantitative Ability (QA). Finally, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning or DILR is kept in third place. Together we can see what score is needed to get a specific percentile to qualify for admission.
