On July 17, 2020, the university published the application form HNBGU 2020 for UG and PG programs in online mode. Applicants can submit the application form either online or by post. Applicants must complete and submit the application form for HNBGU 2020 and pay the required application fee before the last date of submission. The university will offer seats for admission to the UG programs based on the last qualifying examination marks. The entrance exam will be conducted by the University for B. Pharmacy and PG courses. The shortlisted candidates will be invited to the counselling session to apply for admission. The university officials will verify the original documents of the qualified candidates during the consultation of the HNBGU.

It includes Home Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Defense & Strategic Studies, Geography, Drawing & Painting, Mass Communication, Hindi, English, Music & Sanskrit. The university also offers specialisation in B. Sc. course, which includes Forestry & Natural Resources, Horticulture, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Defense & Strategic Studies, Geology, Geography, Botany & Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Zoology & Biotechnology. Other than that, students can also pursue B. Com. at the university.

For B.Ed. Students: Six students in the entrance exam carried out by the University for Admission to B.Ed. secure the top six positions. A monthly scholarship of Rs. 200/- each is granted.  BPL Students: The Rs. 1500/- per month scholarship is granted to a maximum of ten talented university students belonging to the BPL category. 

For Students from Economically Weaker Sections- The Bonafide students belonging to the SC/ST/OBC category are awarded some of the scholarships, provided that the annual income of the applicant's family does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000 in the case of SC/ST students and Rs. 1,00,000 in the case of the OBC category. In any nationalized bank, students falling into this category must have a bank account.
