60 MonthsThe Institute admitted it’s the first batch of doctoral students in August 2009. The duration of course Including the coursework, the duration of the Ph. D. The programme is approximately 10 semesters. The Institute hosts modern research facilities that are necessary to conduct scientific research in the 21st Century.

Fellowship
The monthly fellowship awarded to the Ph.D. scholars is at par with the CSIR-UGC Junior Research Fellowship.
Eligibility Criteria
- 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (or first-class equivalent) or first class in Master’s program in a relevant discipline as declared by the respective University.
- The candidate must have qualified at least one of the following examinations: CSIR-JRF, UGC-JRF or GATE or other national-level examinations as specified in the document, with validity as on 01 January 2025 (see School specific Eligibility Criteria for other national-level examinations considered for the selection).
- BS-MS/MSc/Integrated MSc students from any of the IISERs/IITs/IISc with CGPA 8 or above on a 10-point scale are exempted from national level test eligibility related criteria.
- JRFs at IISER TVM, recruited under extramural projects, with a valid national-level qualification as specified in point 2.
Admission Details
- Each School may then use additional criteria to shortlist candidates and invite them to appear for interview and/or written test at IISER TVM. Merely satisfying the minimum eligibility criteria does not automatically entitle a candidate to be called for interview.
