Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata was established by Professor PC Mahalanobis in Kolkata on 17th December 1931 and ISI Kolkata has achieved the status of an Institution of National Importance by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1959. ISI Kolkata has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). ISI Kolkata offers courses including Bachelor of Mathematics Hons, Bachelor of Statistics Hons, M.Tech Cryptology and Security, M.Tech Computer Science, M.Tech Quality, Reliability and Operations Research, Master of Statistics, Master of Mathematics, and MS Quantitative Economics.

Admissions to ISI Kolkata in the Bachelor of Mathematics Hons and Bachelor of Statistics Hons, students have to sit for a written test followed by an interview. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university to be eligible for admission at ISI Kolkata to the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics course. M.Tech admission aspirants are required to sit for a written test followed by an interview round conducted by ISI Kolkata. GATE scores are accepted for M.Tech admissions at ISI Kolkata.

College Infrastructure

Free Wi-Fi, medical facilities, sports facilities are available in the campus. The food in the canteen is not that . The hostel rooms are for single accommodation .In classroom there are projectors, AC and those are well maintained.There is also the availability of gym.
