Indian Statistical Institute Bangalore M.Math Admission Process

For M.Math

• Students with B. Math. (Hons.) degree from the Indian Statistical Institute are offered direct admission to the M. Math. programme.

• Other eligible candidates, including students with B. Math. (Pass) degree from the Indian Statistical Institute, will have to apply online through the application form.

• The students will have to appear for the written test.

• The selection for admission to the M. Math programme is based on academic record, performance in written selection tests and subsequent interview.

Indian Statistical Institute Bangalore Doctoral Admission 

Students can get admission in the Ph.D. program of the institute in one of two possible options:

Junior Research Fellow of the Institute

• Students willing to take admission in this course, must have a M.Stat., M.A, M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Mathematics.

• The eligible candidates will have to appear for an entrance exam

• The students who clear the entrance exam will have to appear for a round of interview.

Junior Research Fellow of CSIR or NBHM 

• Aspiring candidates will have to write an email to, statmath AT isibang DOT ac DOT in, letting them know of their intention to do a Ph.D. at the Bangalore centre.

• The officials of the institute will then get in touch with the students with regard to a suitably convenient date for an independent written test and interview. 

Indian Statistical Institute Bangalore Placements

The Placement Committee of ISI, Bangalore looks after and coordinates the complete placement process. The Convener of the Placement Committee stays in close connection with the recruiting companies and coordinates the placement process with them. The companies have to fill a form in order to inform the institute about their company and the positions they are offering. Each company is assigned one specific day to visit the campus. After the interviews with the students, the companies release the list of the selected candidates by the end of the day and hand over the list to the convener. The convener later distributes that list to the selected candidates, who are supposed to join the company within the first month of the completion of their course.
