The Maharashtra University Act created Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University in 1990. A total of 650 acres of land make up the university's campus. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded NMU Jalgaon with grade A accreditation and has been approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The NMU Jalgoan has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The NMU Jalgaon offers scholarships to meritorious students to pursue further studies at the university. Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University (NMU) was established in 1990. University offers UG, PG and PhD programmes. Admission in different courses are based on Merit and Entrance Exams. For MCA integrated course eligibility is to Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology or Technical Vocational Subject with 45% marks.
