The Maharashtra University Act created Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University in 1990. A total of 650 acres of land make up the university's campus. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded NMU Jalgaon grade A accreditation. The University Grants Commission (UGC) also recognises the university. NMU Jalgaon scholarships are given to meritorious students to pursue further studies at the university.
