B.Sc Physics Hons at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Offline Course

The B.Sc. Honours Programme in Physics at the Department of Atomic and Molecular Physics aims at the focused learning of Physics from fundamentals to advanced topics in the course of four years with extra emphasis on the research elements. Adhering to the NEP guidelines, this programme has provision for multiple exits wherein a student would be eligible for B.Sc. degree in Physics after the successful completion of three years and the fourth year would be dedicated to a research project leading to the Honours degree. Structured pedagogic plan of the programme offers a smooth transition from the basics to advanced topic of Physical Sciences including cutting edge areas of research. The rich environment of advanced research of the department facilitates the deeper learning, better learning experiences, more exposure to the latest trends in the fields of interdisciplinary research and career-oriented learning from the undergraduate level. 

 Program Description

An honours program in Physics in tune with National Education Policy of the Govt. of India with a provision for B.Sc. Degree in Physics after the successful completion of three years.

 Focus

To impart sound knowledge on fundamentals of physics, with attractive elective courses in advanced photonics and applied nanoscience. In addition to the above, there will be opportunities for open electives in engineering streams. The 4^th year of the course leading to the honours degree will be dedicated for research projects and related theory papers.   

To foster the research aptitude in the student by providing the rich ambience of research by means of research-oriented curriculum, hands on experiences in the research laboratories, dedicated final semester research project, exposure to the cutting edge scientific developments through conferences, seminars, invited talks by experts etc.
