NIT Mizoram: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) of Mizoram was established in 2010, by act of Parliament. NIT Mizoram spread over 190 acres of land, it is one of the 31 NITs in India and the other top a higher education technical institutes in India. The Government of India established NIT Mizoram, an independent science and technology school. NIT Mizoram was established to offer education, research, and training to its students pursuing a variety of course degrees. To meet the demands of the present competitive environment, the NIT Mizoram has laboratories with the newest technology, innovative clubs, and offering other facilities.

NIT Mizoram offers various courses in UG, PG and Doctoral level. The specific courses offered at NIT Mizoram include B.Tech, M.Tech, MS.c and Ph.D. NIT Admissions admissions are conducted  through various Authorities(JoSAA/CSAB( for UG), CCMT/CSMN) based on entrance tests such as JEE Main, GATE and University written Tests. NIT Mizoram Courses:

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Mizoram provides a wide range of academic programs that cater to students' diverse interests and career aspirations. These include six undergraduate programs in Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), four postgraduate programs in Master of Technology (M.Tech), MS.c and MBA. Additionally, the institute offers Ph.D in various disciplines of engineering, science, and humanities.

NIT Mizoram Admissions:

Admissions to the programmes followed by various modes and procedures. For NIT Mizoram B.Tech course, students need to appear for JEE Main and participate in JoSAA/CSAB counselling. To secure admission for M.Tech programmes, candidates must appear for CCMT or NIT Mizoram's Institute based written test and interview. The seat allotment process will be conducted by the respective boards/authorities. For the M.Sc programme, students must have appeared in the JAM exam and participate in the CCMN process. Ph.D

NIT Mizoram Cut off

NIT Mizoram is an autonomous national institution for science, technical education in India, it has eminent faculty, well infrastructure facilities, good placements. The admission cutoff for NIT is highly competitive and dependent on various factors such as the number of students applying, their region, reservation criteria, and availability of seats.  Based on past cutoff scores, NIT Mizoram candidates may need to score within the 80-95 percentile range or higher in JEE Main. However, it's important to note that the cutoff rank for NIT may vary significantly from year to year and is subject to change. The latest cutoff score will be announced after JoSSA/DASA counselling.

NIT Mizoram has an excellent career counselling and placemats committee, it is a combined body with eminent members who are experts in building industrial relations, and train students accordingly. The NIT Mizoram placement cell has also shown internship opportunities to students in 2022. NIT Mizoram training and placement cell handles all aspects of the industries and students needs. programmes are designed and planned to train the students for real industrial experience during the internship programme. For the year 2021 NIT Mizoram highest package and average package has improved then previous years,  the median package stands at 6.8 LPA.

 NIT Mizoram Scholarships

NIT Mizoram is an autonomous institute funded by the government that adheres to UGC regulations and provides financial aid programs and scholarships to students. The institute offers a range of scholarships to encourage students to pursue their academic careers. Eligible students can apply for financial support through several scholarship options available at NIT Mizoram. It's important for scholarship aspirants to note that they can only receive one scholarship at a time from a single source. Apart from scholarships offered through the National Scholarship Portal, there are various other scholarship schemes available such as UGC - Ishan Uday (NER), Govt. of Manipur, Govt. of Bihar, ONGC, and Samsung.

In the 360 rankings 2022, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Mizoram was graded with AAA+ in the band among engineering colleges in India. It's important to note that the rankings were given based on a range of factors, including teaching, faculty, research learning and resources, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and perception.

To establish its permanent campus, NIT Mizoram permanent campus is spreaded over 291 acres of land. The initial infrastructure for classrooms, hostels, and dining blocks for both boys and girls was constructed using bamboo structures, which were later replaced with prefabricated structures. The campus has well infrastyred classroom blocks, laboratories, library,and hostels. Active clubs, SC/ST redressal cell, sports, canteen, Bank/ATM, medical facilities The Institute is committed to achieving its goal of becoming a 'Green Campus' by preventing deforestation.

NIT Mizoram Location:

NIT Mizoram is located in 9 km away from city centre of Aizawl, the capital city of Mizoram, the closest airports to Aizawl are in Guwahati or Calcutta, and NIT Mizoram is about 35 kilometres from Lengpui Airport. The closest train station to Aizawl, if you wish to travel by train, is Silchar. Sumos on a sharing basis are accessible from Mizoram Circuit House, Sonai Road, Silchar. However, the drive from Silchar to Aizawl may take around 6 hours. There are private buses running between Guwahati and Aizawl, including Network and Capital, and you can purchase tickets at the kiosks at Paltan Bazar. Usually, the vehicles leave on time.

Mizoram MoUs

In order to work together on different academic and research projects, NIT Mizoram signed a Memorandum of Understanding with various institutions in India such as The Indian Institute of Technology Madras, IIT Guwahati, and Haldia Institute of Technology West Bengal . The MoU seeks to make it easier for the two institutions to collaborate on research initiatives, exchange faculty and staff, and share resources and expertise.
