The Institute provide us with all the necessities infrastructure, equipments and facilities which can enhance our stay and academic. The Institute has hostels, proper mess, sports facilities, classrooms which can accommodate more than 70 students with proper seats. The hostel and mess are clean and hygienic. All the equipments are well maintained and available for each students.
Being an NIT students, the teaching quality is great and the faculties are well knowledgeable and experienced on their respective fields. The curriculum is updated with recent trends. We are not only taught in theory but also in practicals which enhance our study to make us job ready.
The placement is decent for every filed, the average placement is around 8Lpa. While most of the student get placed through the Institute while some get contractual job through their network, so most of them get a hands on job before graduation.
Wi-Fi is poor in hostel, we have to buy our own personal connection most commonly airtel extreme. Labs are not that well-equipped. The library is well stocked but sometimes we face problems in availability of some books. The quality of food has improved over time. We are going to leave block 2 soon as the tenure is about to expire. The other blocks like block is the best one but still the buildings are far off.
The faculty members and other staff are exceptional. Everyone is very helpful and kind to us. They are very much engaged and in love with us in all sorts of matters, including our daily affairs. The academics are also fine and at a good level compared to other NITs. The system is accountable and very supportive.
Above-average placements, I would say, make the T&P very worthy. The new head is Sukanta Roy, who is the mastermind. The highest package offered is 14.6 LPA this year from CSE Avishek Gope. Internship-wise, this college also has impressive states. The percentage of students placed is 65 percent.
Good college.
I will be honest, equipment are limited and facilities are very less. There is no smartboards in classroom. Wifi is provided in every block and library as well. In labs there are limited instruments. Equipment which are there is well maintained and used regularly. In terms of place, aizawl is very clean and beaultliful. Classrooms and washrooms are cleaned daily. Food is ok you can survive in terms of taste. Hygiene is maintained properly.
I'm in ECE department here, firstly I got seat in EEE department through JOSSA. After 1year, I changed my branch on the CGPA criteria. Talking about the quality of teaching, professors have great knowledge in thier field. They always support students and help in their clearing doubts. Yes, curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field. All the things which are taught are valuable and makes us ready for job.
Placements are average overall.Till date highest package is 28 lpa in ECE department but off campus. On campus it goes till 16-17 lpa (highest). In CSE department 90% students are places approximately. And in my department approx all are placed with the avg package of 6-7 lpa.
If you don't have any option instead of prvate colleges then you can come here and study but if you have others options of iiits or good gftis then you should not choose this. If you are giving the general fees(i.e, for above 5 lakh income) then it is not at all value for money.
Since it don't have permanent campus so all the blocks are placed atleast 1Km far. No playground is there.Girls Hostel is 12 km away from college and boys hostel is 7 km away. All year girls stay in same hostel but boy's have seperate hostels for particular year. Mizoram is save place, people here are very nature friendly.
Overall it is average. Construction for permanent campus is going on. May be 2-3 year it will take. Mess id about 1km away from ECE block and if you have combined class with other branch then you have to walk 1km to other block. Many problems are there but if you will live here for long time you will love it and explore mountains and hills.
Hello Dear Student,
Getting M.Tech admission at National Institute of Technology Sikkim with a GATE score of 240 and 5.5 CGPA is very difficult because:
80 marks in JEE Main is usually not enough for NIT admission for general category students, but there is a chance that you may get admission to North-Eastern NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, particularly for reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST, EWS). The home state (HS) quota can help improve chances of
With 77 marks in JEE Main, you can expect engineering colleges like NIT Mizoram, NIT Meghalaya , and NIT Arunachal Pradesh. Consider private colleges like GITAM, Lovely Professional University, SRM Institute of Science and Technology , Chandigarh University, and Amity University for better branch options.
