• Candidates who have qualified for JRFs through UGC-NET or UGC-CSIR NET are given first priority in selection.

• The remaining candidates are chosen on the basis of an entrance examination followed by an interview. In determining the merit list, the entrance examination will receive 70% of the weighting and the interview will receive 30%.

• The entrance examination is divided into two parts. 

• Candidates who qualified the entrance examination are invited to appear for an interview before the Selection Committee. 

• Candidates must bring a research proposal that has been discussed with and vetted by the Chief Guide identified at the time of discussion to the interview/viva voce.
