YSRUHS Vijayawada

Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada (YSRUHS Vijayawada) was founded in 1986 by Dr Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, a former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the inaugural chancellor of the university. YSRUHS courses provides various health sciences courses, such as allopathic medicine, dentistry, nursing, and alternative medicine systems like Ayurveda, homeopathy, Unani, naturopathy, physiotherapy and allied health sciences. YSRUHS Vijayawada was renamed as Dr YSR University of Health Sciences in 2022 to commemorate Dr Yeduguri Sandinti Rajasekhara Reddy, another ex-Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. NTRUHS/YSRUHS was established with an aim to convey quality in education, research, and training for professionals. As many as 298 colleges are affiliated to NTRUHS, Vijayawada.

YSRUHS Vijayawada is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by various councils such as the Medical Council of India (MCI), the Dental Council of India (DCI), the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), and the Indian Nursing Council (INC). The university has a large network of 184 affiliated colleges and institutes that offer a wide range of courses at the graduate, postgraduate, doctoral, diploma, and super-specialty levels. YSRUHS Admissions to these courses are based on entrance exams conducted either by the university itself or by the state government.

NTRUHS Vijayawada has a placement cell that provides guidance and assistance to its students for their career development. YSRUHS Vijayawada Placement Cell organizes various activities such as seminars, workshops, guest lectures, industrial visits, internships, etc. to enhance the skills and knowledge of the students. The placement cell also invites various reputed hospitals, clinics, research institutes, etc. to conduct campus recruitment drives for its students. YSRUHS Vijayawada Scholarship

Dr YSR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada initiated the Undergraduate Student Research Scholarships (UGSRS) to promote interest and aptitude for research among the undergraduate students. The main objective of the NTRUHS Vijayawada scholarship program is to provide an opportunity to undergraduate students in institutions that are affiliated to NTRUHS, Vijayawada. Around 500 students are given NTRUHS Vijayawada scholarships. The university offers Under Graduate Student Research Scholarships (UGSRS) to those students who are pursuing M.B.B.S., B.D.S, Ayush, Nursing and Physiotherapy.

The value of the UGSRS is Rs 5,000 per month for two months duration (the total sum is Rs 10,000) and is meant to be a stipend for the student. So, the UGSRS program is for only those students who are pursuing M.B.B.S./B.D.S/Ayush/Nursing/Physiotherapy from recognised institutions.

College Infrastructure

Infrastructure is a vast and very beautiful. The whole gitam college is spread across 350acres and dental college is at the entrance only. The facilities, equipment, wifi are super. College is well hygienic.

Hello there,

Hope you are doing well. See, as you have qualified NEET UG-2021 you can definitely participate in the Andhra Pradesh state quota counselling but with a score of 399 getting a government BHMS seat won't be possible for you despite having an OBC category. You atleast needed to score 500+ for the same .

You can try for private or management quota seats if you wish to.
