Medical laboratory professionals play a vital role in medical diagnosis for decades. Technological advances, the addition of new imaging modalities now place medical imaging among the most dynamic, expanding and high demand fields in clinical medicine. Medical Radiology and Advanced Imaging Technology is the health profession concerned with the direct administration of radiation, primarily x-rays, in disease diagnosis and injury assessment and treatment. Starting from the humble beginnings of plain film techniques, a wide array of imaging methods using Conventional and Digital X-rays, ultrasound, Radionuclide, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, CT (computed tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), Nuclear medicine, Angiography, etc. These professionals are at the heart of modern medicine.
A candidate must have Passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together.
