The University of Kota is a premier institution of higher education located in the state of Rajasthan, India. Established in 2003 by the Government of Rajasthan, the university offers a range of academic programs across six faculties, namely, Arts, Commerce and Management, Education, Law, Science, and Social Science. The university has been included in the list of Universities maintained by the UGC Act, 1956 under the vide notification No. F.9-23/2003(CPP-I) dated 23rd February 2004 and has finally received Central Assistance in terms of rules framed under section 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956 as per Decision of Commission (item No.5.17) dated 22nd October 2012.

The University of Kota is committed to providing quality education to its students and has taken significant steps towards achieving this goal. The university has over 180 affiliated colleges with approximately 2,30,000 students from six districts of the state under its territorial jurisdiction. The courses offered by the university include: MBA, MCA, MSW, LLM, M.PEd, M.Com (Accounting & Finance), B.Sc, M.Sc, M.Tech, M.A, Diploma, M.Phil. and Ph.D. in various disciplines.

The university has made MoUs with organisations such as the Centre for Climate Science & Policy Research, Linkoping University, Sweden, and DCM Sriram Consolidated Limited, Kota. The university has been recognized by the Department of Science and Industrial Research (DSIR), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India as an upcoming research center in Rajasthan.

The University of Kota is taking steps towards its future growth as a multi-faculty, multi-department organization with a focus on the all-round development of its students. The university has submitted proposals for the establishment of new departments, including the Department of Pure & Applied Bioscience, Department of Pure & Applied Mathematics, Department of Humanities, and Department of Education. The university has also submitted proposals to the UGC to develop a sports complex, central library, computer science, boys & girls hotels, dispensary, rainwater harvesting system, sewerage lines, etc. on its campus.
