The University of Kota (UOK) Kota is a premier institution of higher education located in the state of Rajasthan, India. The University of Kota was established in 2003 by the Government of Rajasthan and offers a range of academic programmes across six disciplines, namely, Arts, Commerce and Management, Education, Law, Science, and Social Science. Kota University is committed to providing quality education to its students and has taken significant steps towards achieving this goal. 

Kota University has over 180 affiliated colleges with approximately 2,30,000 students from six districts of the state under its territorial jurisdiction. The courses offered by Kota University include PGD, MBA, MCA, MSW, LLM, M.PEd, MCom (Accounting & Finance), BSc, M.Sc, M.Tech, MA, and PhD in various disciplines.  Admissions to MBA courses are done based on the scores obtained in the CMAT Entrance examination.

The University of Kota has been included in the list of Universities maintained by the UGC Act, 1956 under the vide notification No. F.9-23/2003(CPP-I) dated 23rd February 2004 and has finally received Central Assistance in terms of rules framed under section 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956 as per Decision of Commission (item No.5.17) dated 22nd October 2012.

The Kota University has made MoUs with organisations such as the Centre for Climate Science & Policy Research, Linkoping University, Sweden, and DCM Sriram Consolidated Limited, Kota. The university has been recognised by the Department of Science and Industrial Research (DSIR), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India as an upcoming research centre in Rajasthan. The Kota University campus has several academic and administrative buildings, sports facilities, hostels, and other amenities. It offers a variety of high-quality academic programmes and is a popular choice for students from all over India and abroad.

Kota University is taking steps towards its future growth as a multi-faculty, multi-department organisation with a focus on the all-round development of its students. Kota University has submitted proposals for the establishment of new departments, including the Department of Pure & Applied Bioscience, Department of Pure & Applied Mathematics, Department of Humanities, and Department of Education. Kota University has also submitted proposals to the UGC to develop a sports complex, central library, computer science, boys & girls hotels, dispensary, rainwater harvesting system, sewerage lines, etc. on its campus.

The Kota University is located near Kabir Circle, MBS Marg, Kota, Rajasthan 324 005, India. It is close to the main railway station and bus stand, with good public transportation connections to other parts of the city. The Kota Junction railway is 16.8 km away, while the Kota Airport is 8.7 km away. In other words, the University of Kota is conveniently located in the city of Kota, with easy access to public transportation. It has a well-equipped campus with a variety of facilities and offers a wide range of academic programmes.
