Government Post Graduate College, Manila Admission Process

Government Post Graduate College, Manila (GPGC Manila) is a highly regarded institution situated in Almora, Uttarakhand, the college has a diverse set of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various streams. GPGC Manila adheres to a merit-based admission process to allow only the most deserving candidates to be admitted into its courses.

GPGC Manila admissions usually start even before the academic year, which mostly starts in July or August. The college provides undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses, with UG courses being of 3-year duration and PG courses of 2 years' duration.

For undergraduate admissions, candidates who have done their 10+2 from a recognized board are eligible for admission. The candidate's selection is mostly done on the basis of the marks secured in the qualifying exam (12th standard). For postgraduate admissions, the candidate should have done their bachelor's degree in the same subject from a recognized university.

Degree wise Admission Process

BA (Bachelor of Arts): GPGC Manila provides BA in many subjects such as Hindi, English, Sociology, Geography, Economics, Political Science, and Sanskrit. The admission procedure to BA courses is merit-based, with the marks secured in 12th standard. The college admits 80 students to each of these BA courses.

B.Sc (Bachelor of Science): B.Sc degrees are offered in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, and Botany by the college. Admission is merit-based with 40 intakes per each specialisation.

MA (Master of Arts): The GPGC Manila conducts MA courses in History, Hindi, Political Science, and Economics. Admission for the MA programs follows the marks received in the relative bachelor's course. All the MA courses are allowed with 60 admissions every year.

Diploma in Tourism: This is a one-year diploma program offered by the college. The admission process for this course is purely merit-based, considering the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Diploma in Journalism: GPGC Manila also offers a one-year diploma in Journalism. The admission process for this program is based on both an entrance test and merit, providing a comprehensive evaluation of the candidates.
