College infrastructure is genuinely great. It has all the basic amenities and facilities. However, the classrooms designs are outdated. New changes in existing infrastructure happen frequently. The maintenance is not that great. Food is great but hygiene issues maybe there.
The quality of teaching is great for commerce and humanities. The curriculum seems to be outdated. Highly focused on theoretical knowledge without practical trainings. It is not enough to get a job. Nothing specific related to job market is taught.
Low to no placements on campus. If any, they are very low packages with back office entry level job roles. No scope for field jobs. No support for placements. Only 1% of the total students are placed.
The course is economical compared to private institutions. Majority courses are highly economical. Since there is no placements offered or any scope of jobs in the related field, the ROI is below expectations. However it depends on one's expectations and personal experience. Also, cost of living is high both on campus and off campus.
The campus life is not bad. However it is less interesting and interactive. Only occasional events and fests are hosted. Good for NCC NSS cadets. Low networking opportunities and seminars are held. The location is good and peaceful with market nearby. It is generally safe.
The college is good if one only aims to attain a degree and experience city life. It is a safe option for beginners. For bachelors degree, it maybe a considerable option depending upon the expectations one has, but as per my experience a big to masters program especially for IT/ commerce students. Good enough for research and PhD candidates. This is a general review for colleges under Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Yess the college have all the basic necessities which are needed by everybody. Along with that each classrooms have there own smart boards with fully ventilations. And the college food is completly healthy and safe. Everything provided in food with proper care. Also for the peaceful fully air conditioned libaries are provided to us.
I am studing bachelors of commerce because i believe more in a pratical knowledge as i am not good in learning or craming the theoratical subject Also i dont like science. The quality of teaching is brilliant in our college. If we maintain our concentration in classroom mostly thebteacher s make us learn there itself by their teaching tactics and strategies. Also to make the topic lively they use different methods of teacher to make us understand for example by presentations, group actovities et
The quality of placements according to the city is good not like delhi. As delhi is a hub for placements. Many students are placed every year. According to me the highest package offer is 450000rs in bcom and average salary offered is 100000. The placement process of college is good not best as the information about the placements are put on notice boards.sometime students dont read it so the opportunities goes from there hands. No informations are provided individually to the classes.
My course cost me 30000 rupees per year. And its cost effective to as nowdays school fees is more than college fees. Yes, main focus of student is to study and the college provide with very good education. Along with the education students are provided with extra currilam activities to for example courses in fashion designing etc.
The best featuer of the college is the greenery as complete college is surrounded with trees plants etc. Also with complete cleanniness Worst feacture of the college is sitting space is less. The staff of the college is good as it listens throughly in little to little problems of the students. The location of college as its core of the chandigarh wherw the college is located. Also its safe for everybody as college have its own medical rooms atm booths. College is always surrounded with police.
Mcm have such a good infrastructure and well facilities. My experience at Mcm is so so great. Even in pandemic they created new Auditorium for students and such a big library with good AC facility. I love being a part of Mcm.
I choose Mcm become of it's high reputation and great alumni base. MCM hold great academic record in tricity. The curriculum is always updated time to time. And includes all the recent development in the filed.
Almost all the students who sit in the placement cell always get placed in highly reputed companies like Infosys , Tata etc. The maximum package offered is of 4.8 lakhs per annum for the last year batch.
Infrastructure of the college is great but the benches which are provided to students need some improvement. Beside this food quality is extremely good and its healthy and the living spaces are clean and hygienic.
I am B.Com student and teaching quality is average. There are some teachers who teach really really very well but then there are some others teachers too who do not teach and are always busy with other stuffs.
After the post covid period, the number of companies coming for placement has really went down and the companies that are coming are not really great, and being a third year student i am really worried about it.
The infrastructure of the college is extremely well maintained and every classroom have a white board as well as a blackboard. The living spaces are very clean and the food is hygienic. The facilities we have in a college are Laboratories ,libraries, hostels, classrooms, Wi-Fi, Auditorium, etc.
Every teacher is expert in her field and the curriculum always is updated and includes all the recent developments in that particular field. The reason which is why I have chosen this college is that because it is famous for Commerce and its teaching methods.
Companies like Infosys visit our campus and almost all the students who sit in the placement cell gets placed and the average package for B.Com fresher students remains around 2.5 lakhs per annum. Our placement cell team try their best to place each and every student in the best company.
The college provides with all the necessary ammemeties being a cafeteria, library, a tuck shop, bank and ATM facility, nescafe and other eatery outlets. A well structured ground along with a Rishi Vatika giving you a relaxed feel. The classroom can easily accommodate 50 students in one class. Wifi facility all around the college and inside the hostel. The hostel have an underground basement for yoga sessions and a complete cafeteria with good food.
I am currently pursuing BSc physics hons. I got to choose physics hons in my 3rd semester as an optional subject and the eligibility being previous scores in physics subjects. For each year, you have compulsory 9 subjects (3 each from Phy, Mat, Chem) and other optional subjects varying in 1st and second year. The curriculum is fully revised and updated for each year. Since most of the students opt for MSC, the syllabus taught really encompasses for all the exam preparations in th future.
Placements drives and internships are conducted for the odd semester every year although other internship opportunities keep coming up all around the year.the college actively provides such opportunities to students and offers them other knowledge via its placement cell.
The cost varies for the course you choose and the additional subjects you may opt, but on an average it varies from 20k to 25k for an academic year. Additional exam fees by the university is around 2500 to 4000 varying with the subjects you have.
There are some rules that you need to follow being it an all girls college , but aside that it holds to its DAV culture with a blend of modernity. You get to view fests and other inter college and intra college competitions around the year and also the annual college trip to Goa, Jaipur etc. There are other educative excursions conducted as well
Yes the college campus has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. Classrooms, labs, sports centres and hostels are well equipped and have wifi all over. The living spaces are clean and the campus have big gardens which are well maintained.
I am persuing MA Economics from this college as further I have to prepare and give ugc net exam. The quality of teaching here is very good and the faculty is very informative, knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. The curriculum is updated and includes new developments and also have more scope. If studied seriously, the study here makes you job ready too.
Quality of placements are very good at this college. Many athletes and sports students of the college are winning medals and representing our country and other students also are at very good posts in different companies over the world.
Haven't really visited the college yet because of covid-19 virus. But what I know from pictures and reviews from my friends and relatives I think it is quite good. The environment is really good and positive
During online classes I've seen that the teachers are very supportive and give amazing explanations to everything. It is very friendly environment and the students too are good. The academics are amazing.
In my knowledge from ny friends and relatives and also from the college prospectus I have seen there is a good amount of placement offered to students every year. Also the salary is worth. I think it's good
The College is having a brilliant infrastructure. Being a science student, i can say that all the necessities that are required to carry out lab work are easily available. Apart from classrooms and labs, college has beautiful gardens, celebration ground, cafeteria where students can spend free time beautifully.
The college has an outstanding faculty which puts in lots of efforts to make studens learn the concepts theoretically as well as practically. Every department organises various seminars, workshops and industrial visits which helps in holistic development of students.
Placements after undergraduate programs are not very good. Though a lot of comapanies visit the campus, but not many students join the companies after graduation. The package offered after UG courses would be around 3-4 lakhs per annum.
Infrastructure of college is superb with WiFi installed in the college. Also there is hostel in the campus itself. One can move freely in the fresh air and so clean environment. The area is pretty safe.
I am pursuing BSc Non Medical to gain more knowledge about Sciences. The teachers of My subjects are so helpful and generous to help anytime. The way teachers teach is so easy to grasp. They are so friendly.
Since I am a fresher so I don’t know much about placements. But as I have read so much about this college, placements provided here are so good that many of the students of this college are placed to such big companies.
The fees of my course is affordable. This college values for money. According to fees paid I am getting a lot more. A peaceful environment with such helpful and lovely teachers. My course costs me 20,000 per year.
Campus life is so disciplined and the environment here is so clean and fresh. One can roam in the garden in the evening to have some fresh air. We can’t use phones in the college campus. Also the college is in very safe area.
MCM DAV College is one of the best college of the Northern India. Since I haven’t been visited the college yet due to COVID but still online teaching says it all about the best college. The teachers here are so wonderful, helpful and friendly. Every teacher is so knowledgeable in their own field. Also I feel so proud to be part of this prestigious college.
Hello vrinda,
Hope you are doing well.
As per your question, yes you can take admission in the college where you want but there are some procedures which you should go with is that firstly you should require transfer certificate from which you are going to another college. Secondly you should carry your academics results which will be proof of your first year that you had passed all the exam . So that's it from this simple steps you can transfer your college.
But honestly not all colleges give transfer certificate to students easily during the academics. Don't this happens in some of the colleges. And if you had a valid reason then for sure they will give you.
Hope this information helps you out. Thank you.
Dear Sakshi,
There is no official information on whether you have to fill a separate application form. But the following are the details regarding Msc Chemistry in MCM DAV College for Women:
