    About Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Chandigarh

    Guru Gobind Singh College for Women was founded in 1973 and is one of the prime institutions in Sector 26 of Chandigarh. This all-women's institution, affiliated with Panjab University at Chandigarh, has received accreditation by NAAC. GGSCW, spread across an area of 11 acres, offers diversified undergraduate and postgraduate programs to 1,969 students. The college has a strength of 27 faculty members.

    The college boasts of its high-quality infrastructure, which enriches the educational experience of its students. It has well-equipped laboratories in the campus, including a Psychology Lab with all types of psychological tests and tools, and an English Language Lab equipped with the latest technology for developing language skills. The library has more than 24,000 books functioning as an increased knowledge core with specific sections for periodicals, circulation, and electronic learning resources.

    The college offers a differ courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels to serve different interests and aspirations. The college provides 15 courses. The undergraduate level courses are also famous, which involve B.Com, BA with various specialisations in Psychology, English, Economics, and Sociology, BCA, and B.Sc in Non-Medical and Computer Science. It offers at the postgraduate level MA in English, Sociology, and Economics and M.Sc in Information Technology and M.Com. The total intake of students in all courses is 1,969. The college has a high volume of pass-outs yearly.

    GGSCW Application Process

    This is the general application process for Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Chandigarh, usually:

    GGSCW Admission Process for B.Sc Non-Medical and B.Sc Computer Science

    For GGSCW admission in B.Sc., GGSCW holds a centralised admission process on the basis of merit. The intake is 80 combined for B.Sc Non-Medical and B.Sc Computer Science.

    GGSCW BCA Admission Process

    GGSCW admission for the course BCA is purely merit based, which offers 40 seats.

    GGSCW MA Admission Process

    GGSCW has MA programmes in English, Sociology, and Economics. GGSCW admissions are on a merit basis with reference to the relevant bachelor's degree marks. Each programme has 60 seats.

    GGSCW M.Sc Information Technology Admission Process

    GGSCW admission into the M.Sc (IT) based on merit with an allocation of 40 seats for the programme.

    GGSCW M.Com Information Technology Admission Process

    GGSCW admission in the M.Com course is also merit based with an intake of 40 seats.

    Guru gobind singh college for women has a great infrastructure,all necessary infrastructure ,all facilities are their like a best library,hostel facilities for girls. Sports centers are there ,full time security for girls.

    This is the only thing my college lacks in. The building is what I can say is ONLY FINE and not that really good, the one which is enough to cope with. On the other hand the classrooms are in old and poor condition. However, we have canteen and a nice big ground to capture the moments and a very nice basketball court as well????
