They have shooting floors where you can build small sets. The lighting equipment on the ceiling is very complicated. It looks like it would take a long time to learn how to use it. The production studios are great. It is very hard to book one during peak project season, which is usually before the semester ends. You have to keep checking the website and hope that someone cancels their booking at the prod
When students first start they learn the basics of writing for the screen acting and studying cinema. The school teaches them these things at a pace that feels slow and steady, but not too slow. By the time students are, in their year they are expected to know a lot more and be able to do things on their own. The film school program takes away the training wheels so to speak. This can feel a bit sudden depending on what area of film the students are specializing in like the film school program.
At MCSPA getting a job is not one big event. It is like a slow process that starts from the very first semester. The institution focuses on building connections getting students with the industry and helping them create a portfolio. This is different, from the way companies recruit. For students who understand this from the start the hard work they put in during their time really helps.. For those who expect the college to find them a job when they graduate it's a big shock.
MCSPA is not an institution. When you add tuition fees to Mumbai's living costs. Accommodation, food, transport and other expenses. The total cost of the program is quite high. For students from middle-income families who don't live in Mumbai this is a financial commitment. It needs planning and in some cases real sacrifice, from families who are investing in a career that doesn't promise a high salary.
The campus is like a place where people are being very creative. Someone is practicing a monologue in a corner. They are doing it like it is the most important thing they will ever do. A group of film students are sitting around a laptop talking about how they should take pictures for their movie and they are talking about it seriously. Else on the campus a group of people are having a big argument about a movie script.
If you are looking for a school that will do everything for you the MCSPA is not the place to go. But if you want a school that will push you to be your best teach you what you need to know and sometimes make things tough, for you then the MCSPA is a choice. The MCSPA will help you become a person who can take care of yourself. The MCSPA does this well even when it is hard.
