SRMIST Chennai has a well maintained campus with Modern classrooms, advanced laboratories, a spacious library, high speed WiFi, smart boards and excellent facilities. The campus infrastructure is clean and regularly maintained. Hostel facilities are good and food is generally hygienic. Overall the college provides a comfortable and productive learning environment for students.
Academics
I am pursuing CSE w/s in Cyber Security at SRMIST, Chennai. The curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical concepts and practical applications. Faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive, and most courses include lab sessions, assignments and projects that enhance learning. The syllabus is updated regularly to include emerging technologies and industry trends, helping students build technical skills and become more job ready. Overall the academic environment encourages learning and continuous improvement.
Placements
Placements at SRMIST Chennai are good especially for CSE and IT students. Many companies visit the campus for internships and full time recruitments. A good percentage of eligible students get placed every year, with average packages around 5-7 LPA and higher packages for top performers. The placement cell is supportive and conducts training sessions, aptitude tests, coding practice, mock interviews, and soft skills workshops, making the placement process smooth and helpful for students.

All students of my batch got placement as many of them started studying M Pharmacy from different places like Mansor, Lucknow and Kanpur etc. Few of them start working at production From baddi and Haridwar

the placement quality as far as i know is supreme as the college is affiliated with industry giants and are all but sure that we get placed with good pay and good status. almost all student and my senior friends all got placed into verry good companies.

I think there is a zero placement and there's no active campus recruitment for any of the courses students generally prepare for government exams or off off campus placement Career guidance and industry exposure are also non existent.

the placements quality was great and the whole process was pleasant and smooth, the students were 90% placed in good and well known companies with a decent package for freshers and the whole college and faculties were very supportive throughout everything.

The living spaces are very clean nd well maintained. There are 7 canteens from which students can choose from and the food is pretty good too.

We have subjects like biology and statistics as major core along with psychology and other subjects like holistic education, evs, multi disciplinary course to grow as a whole and increase our skills. The quality of teaching is pretty good. The curriculum is updated as per I know. The quality of teaching can be still improved for non science students.

I heard that the quality of placements is really good in our college. The brand name of the college buys itself many opportunities for internships and getting placements. Im still in first year so im not sure about the salary packages offered.

The college campus is huge and absolutely beautiful. It's greenery makes it worth everything. It has peaceful and calming atmospherq throughout with all the lush green spaces designed for students to study or even enjoy some time with friends. Students can engage in a lot of activities there are more than 10 clubs, some of it like center for social action, peer education, university choir, sports, students welfare office, dance club in the college. The atmosphere is very lively with a lot of fests and programmes. The college is a little bit away from city and secluded but the environment is nice and it can handle emergency because there is a hospital and police station very close to it.
