36 MonthsThe B.Tech (Lateral Entry) ME (Hons.) programme with specialization in Electrical Vehicle Technology, offered in collaboration with Larsen & Toubro EduTech, is a 3 year undergraduate programme designed to equip diploma holders with advanced EV engineering knowledge and industry-focused skills. The B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Electric Vehicle (EV) Technology) is designed to address the evolving demands of the automotive industry, with a strong emphasis on sustainable transportation. The program offers an in-depth understanding of EV systems, electric powertrains, battery management systems, and green mobility solutions, integrated with core mechanical engineering concepts.
It further acquaints students with emerging domains such as renewable energy integration, smart mobility, and automation in transportation. In alignment with national initiatives promoting clean and electric mobility, the curriculum has been co-designed by L&T EduTech, enabling students to gain practical exposure through hands-on laboratories, live projects, and engagement with the dynamic EV ecosystem. This academic–industry collaboration prepares students to become competent, job-ready engineers capable of contributing to the future of sustainable mobility.
Specializations:
Spanning three years, this program covers electric motors, EV design, hybrid vehicles, power electronics, charging infrastructure, and thermal management systems. It integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience through state-of-the-art labs, EV prototypes, and collaborations with industry partners. The curriculum is aligned with national and international EV trends to make students industry-ready for the evolving automotive landscape.
Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in a Diploma in Engineering in any branch or discipline of three-year duration from the State Board of Technical Education, Haryana or an equivalent examination. Alternatively, applicants holding a B.Sc. degree from a recognized university (as defined by the UGC) with at least 50% marks and having passed the 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject are also eligible.
Lateral entry admissions are offered directly into the second year of the B.Tech program, allowing diploma and B.Sc. holders to continue their education with advanced technical subjects. Candidates with a background in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or allied fields gain an added advantage, as the program emphasizes practical learning, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities required in emerging technologies such as Electric Vehicle systems, automation, and sustainable manufacturing.
50% marks in Diploma in Engineering in any branch/discipline of 3 year duration from State Board of Technical Education, Haryana or equivalent examination or B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC with at least 50% marks and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject
