International Trade Law is one of those courses which is continuously expanding. It encompasses various rules and customs which have to be kept in mind while carrying out trade between different countries.The International Trade Law field has become quite independent and is necessary to study by different countries because most countries have now become a part of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
In recent years, International Trade Law course has taken flight because many transactions between private companies of different countries have become a part of the WTO activities. International Trade Law has four different levels of relationships, which are unilateral measures, bilateral relationships, plurilateral agreements, and multilateral arrangement.
Various colleges/universities have different eligibility criteria lists for International Trade Law course. The students need to clear this eligibility criteria list to secure admission in that college. Some of the eligibility criteria lists are –
For bachelor degree
The students can pursue international trade law as specialization with an integrated course.
The students should have successfully cleared 10+2 or any other equivalent examination.
They must clear the entrance exams, conducted at any level based on the university/college requirements.
For master degree
After the students have completed their 5 years in LLB, they are eligible for this course.
They must clear the entrance exams, conducted at any level based on the university/college requirements.
Entrance Exams for International Trade Law
Entrance exams have become necessary to determine the right students for their institutions. Colleges/Universities also conduct entrance exams for the International Trade Law course on a national basis as well as university basis. Some of the entrance exams are mentioned here –
ULET (University Law Entrance Test)- ULET is conducted by the University of Rajasthan to grant admission to the Undergraduate courses. It is a University level exam conducted offline for 1.5 hours.
ULSAT LLM (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Law School Admission Test)- This exam is conducted online and the questions are based on common thinking analysis and are 3 hours long. It is conducted to grant admission to the UG courses.
CLAT LLM (Common Law Entrance Examination)- It is a national level examination conducted by the central government to grant admission to the UG and PG courses. It is conducted offline for 2 hours with no negative marking.
AP PGLCET (Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Common Law Entrance Test)-It is a state-level exam conducted to grant admission to the PG courses. It is conducted online for 1.5 hours. The students appearing for this exam should have cleared a 3-year or 5-years LLB course from a recognised university.
TS PGLCET (Telangana State Post Graduate Common Law Entrance Test)- It is a state-level examination conducted by Osmania University to grant admission to the PG courses. The appearing students should have cleared their 3-year or 5-year LLB course from a recognised university. It is conducted online for 1.5 hours.
