BU Jhansi Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The University has hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The boy’s accommodation is known as the Lord Buddha PG Boys Hostel and can accommodate more than 150 students. It has all the regular provisions for the students. There is a new boy’s hostel for the SC/ST students which has accommodation for more than 200 students who will be working from the next academic session onwards.

The UniversityPresently, two Girls' Hostels, i.e., P.G. Women's Hostel and Jhalkari Bai Girls' Hostel with a capacity to accommodate 150 and 300 inmates, respectively, are effectively operational, and work on an SC/ST Women Hostel is in progress. A working woman Hostel for the residential faculty members and research scholars has become operational. All the existing hostels are equipped with the requisite facilities in terms of security, food, furnishing, telephone, regular power, and water supply, provision of hot and cold water during winters and summers with recreation and T.V. Room, etc. The hostels will have in-house Internet access by the beginning of the coming academic session.

The university has a parking space that can be utilized by members of faculty, staff, or students. This space facilitates the students to arrive at their transportation. 

The University aids the medical requirements of the students, the university has a dispensary that works between 8 AM to 8 PM on all working days. The health center is supported by three physicians who come on duty on a shift basis to ensure that there is somebody to attend to the students at all times. The institute has also extended its medical facilities to incorporate the services of a dentist, an internist, an ophthalmologist, and a pathologist. The health center of Bundelkhand University is located in the residential complex which lies close to the shopping complex. Therefore, it is easy to reach students and faculty members alike. 

The university has a well-built Central Library that is equipped with books, journals, and magazines from all courses at national and international levels. The departments for specialized and professional courses such as law, engineering, management, mass communication, pharmacy, forensic sciences, physical education, rehabilitation science, education, journalism, and mass communication are some of the departments that have a departmental library which is well-equipped with books and labs based on the course types. This is done to facilitate the learning of the students and to give them a chance to go through catalogs of books that can expand their minds. 

The University ensures the well-being and health of the students, the university has well-built grounds. It has a huge sports ground and also has a gymnasium incorporated with an indoor stadium. With these opportunities, it ensures that the students can carry out any activity that they feel like. The sports department of the university regularly sends out notices to inform the students about any tournaments, events, or competitions that are going to be held. In this manner, the students can register themselves for the event accordingly. The students who are a part of these events are exempted from the classes and are given duty leaves accordingly. 

The university facilitates the IT needs of its students through the construction of a computer centre that has advanced hardware and software availability. Other than the central computer lab, the computer centre has a network of over 500 advanced computer systems that join the various departments in the university. In addition to this, the central computer facility has a tier 2 data centre and more than 11 high-performance servers with a world-class computing capacity. It houses the in-house web presence of Bundelkhand University with a 45 Mbps backup link under the domain name NKN Link.

The University satiates the hunger cravings of the students, the Bundelkhand University has a cafeteria that provides snacks and beverages at reasonable prices and with high quality. The food that is prepared is hygienic and undergoes quality tests regularly to ensure that only good quality food reaches the plates of the students. Also, the university has two shopping complexes built within the campus one shopping campus is on the residential campus and another on the academic campus.

The University conducts all events, seminars, and workshops for the university, a massive Gandhi Auditorium is built. It is well-equipped with two seminar halls and has all the modern audio-visual aids including LCD projectors among other things. It has a decent housing space of about 1000 people which ensures that many people can attend and enjoy the event at once. It has also developed an Open-Air Theatre which is built in the Girl's hostel complex. The open-air Theatre provides a lively environment for the students to conduct recreational and interactive activities together.

The University has incepted Bundelkhand University International Centre (BUIC) on the lines of the India International Centre, New Delhi. The accommodation unit of this splendid complex consists of 4 luxurious suites and 20 well-furnished AC rooms. In addition, there are twin Conference Seminar Halls, Swimming Pools; Tennis and Badminton Courts Coffee shops, Dining halls, Poolside restaurants, multiple change rooms, etc.

The nicely laid sprawling lawns of the complex can accommodate as many as four large Banquets/ Parties at a time. The center is aimed to act as an effective platform for closer interaction between academia, researchers, professionals, and the corporate world at regional, national, and international levels, alongside working as an appropriate venue for academic, cultural, and social events for the benefit of the society in general and the region in particular.

The center, apart from providing library and communication/information services, is also likely to publish newsletters and journals, print and disseminate popular articles and occasional papers, and convene seminars, conferences, and workshops on applied socio-cultural perspectives besides organizing social and environmental awareness programs.

A non-profit body, the BUIC has been efficiently managed by the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, which, also provides excellent training opportunities for the students pursuing Post Graduate and Under Graduate study programs in Hotel

The University's Wi-fi facility has been provided in girls' hostels and administrative blocks in the first phase. By the end of the year, the whole campus will be covered.

The university has a Swimming Pool facility for students

The University has good networking for the alumni association.

The university has a Moot Court for all law students.

The university had a Post Office, Stationery Shop, Business Centre for Photocopying, and Internet Cafe.

The university has an NSS and NCC Unit.

The University has developed ICT tools to initiate student-centered classrooms and the elimination of traditional teaching practices. The departments and institutions have been equipped with projectors and interactive boards to ensure the best learning, technology integration, and interaction between students and teachers

The University initiated the use of information technology by setting up smart classrooms in various departments with internet connections. The smart classrooms are open to students in their free time which provides excellent platforms for presenting, interacting, and sharing information.

The branch of the State Bank of India with the provision of ATM and CDM has been effectively functioning on the campus ever since the inception of the University. State Bank has emerged as a major asset in the functioning of online payment activities with an Online payment gateway mapped to various online modules.

As such, the University Branch of the Post Office has been operational for more than 25 years.
