Master of Science (M.Sc) in Biotechnology is a full-time two-year postgraduate course and it is offered by the Central University of Rajasthan, Ajmer.

The science of Biotechnology has tremendous potential for application in agriculture, medicine and environment. The breakthroughs in modern biotechnology mainly include our ability to produce useful organisms through genetic engineering and cell fusion techniques and improved bioprocess technology to purify novel molecules generated by such processes. It also involves areas focusing on drug targeting, development of delivery systems, development of vaccines and genetically modified products for the benefit of society. Considering this background, the program is designed in such a way that it covers diverse areas of biological and biomedical sciences such as, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology and Genetics.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor’s degree with Microbiology/Zoology/Botany/Life sciences / Biochemistry/ Genetics/ Biotechnology/ Medicine/ Pharmacy/ any other discipline of Biological sciences as one of the main subjects and Chemistry as one of the optional subjects at least for One year or Two semesters with minimum 50% of marks or equivalent grade in aggregate for general category and 45% or equivalent grade for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS candidates

Admission Details

Admission of students shall be made strictly on the basis of merit adjudged through All-India Common Entrance Test or through Central universities Common Entrance Test(CUCET), wherever applicable, aimed at assessing knowledge, comprehension and aptitude of the student to pursue higher studies through written test/viva/group discussion /personal interview or a combination of these.

College Infrastructure

The university is very large that walking is not easy to students. So, the university provide bus facility which is free of cost to students and help them in reaching their department. The bus travels everytime in working hour of university.

Campus is full with sports, cultural events and academic.

College Infrastructure

The health centre of central university of Rajasthan is very helpful. Ambulance service is available in university 24×7 for any time emergency in campus. Medicines are present in adequate amount at health centre.

College Infrastructure

The classrooms and laboratories are well developed in my department. And the living spaces are maintained enough. Smart boards are also available in our classes for better explanation of topics by teachers.
