If you are planing to study in DCRUST, Murthal then go only with CSE & ECE alone. There are a few companies that recruit from DCRUST, Murthal such as TCS, Techmahindra and HCL so this can be a good decision. But for studying in other branches, this can be a worst decision of your life. Not being exception as if other engineering colleges, most of DCRUST’s alumnis are working with TCS. We are being taught about A for all the four years, but finally we go with B.

None the less than a private university, infrastructure is good. Somewhere, govt. university is itself a tag for bright future, but still, for better placement, a lot of hardships need to be done. As a student, one does have a happening life over here, with a peace of safety and security. Unlike students at the private university, as a student of govt. university, one can feel the desperation among students to achieve their goals. Yes, "campus on placement" is still not the taste of the university, and hence need to be resolved so far. College hostels, are not like the one you find at private colleges, with fully air-conditioned rooms, wardrobes and certain other things, but it makes you well prepared for dealing with any sort of situation. Life turns to be a cake walk for a hosteller at govt. college may be because one knows how to adjust in the worst and in the best at the same time. So expectations from hostels are least to be considered. Professionalism is on heights when we talk of faculties and staff members. And when we turn to students, the diversity among us doesn't create issues, the real goal is to achieve, and not focus on differences, thus students rise as one, not creating impacts over college. Being a government university doesn’t make it more affordable, but to make it to the person who couldn't afford, scholarships are provided, making it much more economical. Though not matching to the wishes of a person, but to the needs of future, Murthal university serves it best, and as we know, life is never served on a platter, there are certain hardships one need to face, and this university prepares you for the same.

This College gave me lot of opportunities to participate in various events both technical and social oriented. These kind of events truly enhance once personality and knowledge. To be part of Savera school run by college students for work side children was the best part of college life.

No Doubt! Exposure to various facilities such as infrastructure, Library, Internet access, laboratory equipment and various highly recommended software are available. But these weapons have no value without perfect trainers (teachers). The faculties of this institution are not good in terms of knowledge although all are highly qualified (Mostly M. Tech /PhD teachers). The placement of this institution is a decline from last two-three years. Only TCS is the Godfather of this institution. This year 137 students are offered by TCS and 15-17 by other companies. At the end, I suggest you that Go for IIT. This is the best place for engineers in India. If you want to join university for enjoyment, then yes this is the best place to serve.

When we first entered in the institution we thought the crowd would be full or villagers (i belong to the same city the institute is in) but it is not like that. There is nothing like ragging so relax. College infrastructure is also good and a lot of open space is there. The faculty is also good. The only concern is the decline in placements since last 2 years. Results are also not that good as compared to any private institution. Rest all is okay.

In dcrust murthal (mechanical engineering) how many students are placed and what are the packages

Avinah 25th Jul, 2019

Dear Avinah,

There is a close friend of mine he is now selected in ONGC (yeah ! The desire of all tech savvy) as an engineer throught GATE (AIR RANK-236). So by this you can get the idea of how technically sound he is. You know he did not get any placement from the campus except one which is TCS ( a mass recruiter). And YMCA placement records have an edge over DCRUST.

Best Wishes!

About College:

The Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST) is located in the town of Murthal, within the Sonipat district of Haryana. Murthal is famous for its eateries, along the Delhi- Chandigarh- Shimla highway, and is less than an hour’s drive from Delhi. The DCRUST was earlier known as the Chhotu Ram State College of Engineering (CRSCE) when formed in 1986. It became a state university in the year 2006, along with the change in name. It is thus recognized by the UGC (University Grants Commission). The DCRUST has also been accredited by both the NBA (National Board of Accreditation) and the NAAC (National Assessments and Accreditation Council), the latter with an A grade rating. The entire campus spreads over a sprawling 273 acres of land.

Courses are run here at both the UG as well as PG levels. The entire academics is run by a list of departments here, each possessing expertise in its own domain. The B. Tech programme here may be pursued in the engineering areas of- Biomedical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Chemical, Biotechnology and for Electronics & Communication. An M. Tech is on offer for most of these courses, plus some more, as more specialized courses are executed at the master’s level. They are available in the areas of- Power Systems, Highway Safety & Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, VSLI Design, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Food Technology, Chemical and for Materials Science & Nano- technology.

The M. Tech in Energy Studies and Environmental Management is being offered by the Centre of Excellence for Energy and Environmental Studies (CEEES). This centre also does an MSc. in Environmental Studies. Meanwhile, the M. Tech in Construction and Real Estate Management is a course initiated by the UGC. The Department of Architecture runs three programmes including the B. Arch at the UG level. At master’s level, there is the M. Arch with specialization in Sustainable Architecture and the M. Plan with specialization on both Rural and Urban models. MSc. courses may also be pursued in the conventional areas of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The Department of Humanities oversees the MA in English. The Department of Management Studies has the MBA under its wing. Some integrated and dual programmes are also run on campus. These include both the UG and PG programmes together, without any exit options. Besides, there is the option of a PG Diploma in Biotechnology. Some part- time courses’ training also gets imparted at the DCRUST in Sonipat. They are the Beginners’ and the Certificate programmes on foreign languages. French and German languages are offered here. Online study is also given a lot of importance on campus. This is why, several of the subjects have been recorded and uploaded on the Moodle network.

A large number of colleges are affiliated by the DCRUST from across the fields. The colleges affiliated are all in Haryana state. These colleges are in the cities and towns namely- Sonipat, Gohana, Jagdishpur, Ganaur, Chidana and Pallri. The DCRUST has also been proactive in sealing collaboration deals with foreign universities. This helps in student or faculty exchange programmes, in winning consulting assignments, as well as for research exchange. At present, agreements lie in existence with the Tampere University of Technology from Finland and the Ostwelfalen Lippe University of Applied Sciences from Germany. The DCRUST is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the SEE (Society of Electrical Engineers).

The DCRUST is a key facilitator of a Ministry of HRD initiative with the World Bank. It is a programme titled TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme). The institute is also connected to the GIAN (Global Initiative of Academic Networks) which offers a method for the academicians to keep updating their academic portfolios consistently. It is a part the National Academic Depository (NAD) which stores high- quality academic content for future usage. It collates information from across sources within the country’s academic and research circles. The university has also been proactive enough to open the Vidya Lakshmi portal. This portal helps students get facilitated to timely study loans. The portal is aligned to the Indian Banks Association (IBA). The India Innovation Council has also been set up to help scale up innovative ventures incubated on campus.

The college rankings have remained steady across platforms. The Careers 360 magazine has placed the DCRUST at the AAA category among universities, but even better at AAA+ for engineering colleges. It has also been placed within the 151- 200 band among universities at the NIRF (National Institutional Rankings Framework). The placements have likewise gone quite good, over the years. Some of the key recruiters in recent seasons have been the likes of- TCS, Libsys, Fidelity, Mediatek, Code Brew, OMICS International, Daffodil Software, IGATE, Lava, Tech Mahindra, HMBS, Daikin, Jindal Stainless, Virtusa, JSG Innotech, Yamaha, Johnson Control, Rivigo, Snap Deal, Denso, Aricent, Akash, Jey Synthesis, Cummins and Walt Disney amongst others.
