Dr YSR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) was established in 1986. The University is founded by Dr Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, a former CM of Andhra Pradesh and the inaugural chancellor of the university.

NTRUHS Vijayawada Scholarship
Dr YSR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Vijayawada initiated the Undergraduate Student Research Scholarships (UGSRS) to promote interest and aptitude for research among the undergraduate students. The main objective of the NTRUHS scholarship program is to provide an opportunity to undergraduate students in institutions that are affiliated with NTRUHS.
Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Research & Development Department is inviting applications from MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, Nursing, Physiotherapy, B.Sc MLT, and other paramedical students studying in Dr. NTR UHS-affiliated colleges for the Under Graduate Student Research Scholarships (UGSRS - 2025).
Around 500 students are given NTRUHS scholarships. The university offers Undergraduate Student Research Scholarships (UGSRS) to those students who are pursuing MBBS, BDS, Ayush, Nursing and Physiotherapy.
A total of 500 UGSRS – 2025 scholarships will be awarded, with the distribution as follows: 300 for MBBS, 100 for BDS, 40 for AYUSH, 25 for Nursing, 25 for Physiotherapy, and 10 for B.Sc (MLT) & other paramedical students. Scholarships will be granted after the applicants submit their reports and the committee evaluates them for 2025.

Infrastructure is a vast and very beautiful. The whole gitam college is spread across 350acres and dental college is at the entrance only. The facilities, equipment, wifi are super. College is well hygienic.
